At one point, a patient in hospice care with terminal cancer requested to listen to music. The staff played one of Apollon’s tracks, and the patient, upon hearing it, said “beautiful” and passed away. Can there be a greater honor than this?

Youtube fed me up an old pal of mine I hadn’t seen in a while. This is a treasure trove of improvised ambient and experimental mostly streamed on twitch from a stalwart group of Chicago weirdos. Anything labelled “Drone Church” is confirmed relevant to the thread.

It’s been a rough year for mental health but one neat side effect is it has led me back to ambient music which I’ve always felt has something integral that helps with ‘slow recovery’. Been on Aphex’s Vol 2 but also Global Communications which I’ll recommend here:
