When I run that thing for seven days, most of the albums come up with blank cover art. But the past month works:

As does running it for all time:

But no Apoptygma Berzerk at all? If you are unfamiliar with them, here are a few representative tracks. (If you simply don’t like them, please ignore this.)

I like SOME apop but the lyrics can get even more embarrassing than vnv nation

Until just now, I always saw your Last.fm image as scary teeth in the dark. It’s actually a jukebox, isn’t it?

Speaking of VNV Nation lyrics, I first discovered them on Napster when Empires was new. There were two versions of the song “Rubicon” floating around, and the first one I heard made me assume that they were not native English speakers. But they are.

The older version of the song said, “. . . so I can live the life as I have always done.” The album version changed this to “my life.”

Ever since, this has been one of those things that sits in the back of my mind and might suddenly make sense one day on reflection. Another such thing for me involves a desk at my high school that was entirely covered in graffiti. I intentionally chose that desk whenever it was available, and everything written/carved on it made sense except one line. I still think about that one line and what it might mean.

oho, it’s actually one of those radiant gas heaters, taken in the dark and possibly with a camera that was doing some cool weird stuff coz it was wet. but i’m glad it’s evoking these other things

as established i tend to listen to just a couple artists for months at a time, especially when i’m trying to understand something, so, uh… not a heck of a variety here

but, this has been my riot plague summer score i guess

(that’s three months, or else it would be, like… a handful of albums, each played 900 times)
