jarpeegees you beat

What was your opinion on like ff10? It is very much in the ps1/2 FF lineage.

What is your opinion on half life 2?

The short stories contained within got a physical Western release so maybe just go read that.

Also felt the short stories were on par with if I was given the premise ā€œThis man has lived for a thousand years and will live for a thousand more.ā€

And as we have learned the final boss is a pair of pants.

Ha, man, if you have that reception of ff10, yeah, steer the fuck clear of Lost Odyssey.

Like, if you really want to play something Mistwalker, play Blue Dragon, which is basically a Dragon Quest game that got made by Square instead of Enix and doesn’t have to be a DQ game.

had the internationalā„¢ version of Lost odyssey and it was a blast playing it in korean.

why korean you ask?
because i 'effin could.

play LO only if you think that after FF10, there has been a void/gap left, if you have the feeling that you want to play that (offline) FF11 that never was. + if you like uematsu trying a few new things after finally leaving the SQEX-FF-composer basement, yeah.

the asian version of lost odyssey had some nice packaging, that’s about all i can remember
i also played it in korean

i’m sure it wasn’t nearly as offensive as ff10

In what way was FF10 offensive? Curious.

  • Finals Fantasy IV, V, VI, Tactics Advance

  • Earthbound, Mother 3 (Untranslated GBA cartridge)

  • Super Mario RPG

  • Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

  • Mario & Luigi

  • SaGa 2 (DS Remake)

  • All Goldens Sun

  • Secret of Mana

  • The World Ends with You

  • PokĆ©mon (Crystal, Black)

  • Chrono Trigger

  • Summon Night: Swordcraft Story (1, 2)

  • Crystalis (Apparently crap GBC version)

  • Zelda (1, LttP, LA, OoT, OoS, OoA, WW, TP, DS1, DS2)

Infinite Space counts, right?

That reminds me - the US version of Lost Odyssey appeared to reuse the 3-disc Blue Dragon cases with the fourth disc in a crinkley paper sleeve.

It was not nice.

Screw it, I’m counting ARPGs and SRPGs too. Leaving out Metroidvanias.

Dragon Warrior III - GBC
Chrono Trigger - SNES
Treasure of the Rudras - SFC
Treasure Hunter G - SFC
Tales of Phantasia - SFC
Shining Force CD - SCD
Breath of Fire 4 - PS1
Grandia - PS1
Saiyuki - PS1
Tales of Destiny 2 - PS1
Parasite Eve - PS1
Brave Fencer Musashi - PS1
Grandia 2 - DC
Lost Kingdoms - GC
Ys: Ark of Napishtim - PS2
Ys Seven - PSP
Persona 3: Portable - PSP
Gurumin - PSP
Ys: Oath of Felghana - PSP
Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden - PC
Shin Megami Tensei: Soul Hackers - 3DS

Game I completed 85%+ (never beat last boss or lost my save…will never go back to these)
Ys Book I and II - TGCD
Terranigma - SNES
Golden Sun - GBA
Dragon Quest V - NDS
Vagrant Story - PS1
Granstream Saga - PS1

Hmm for what should be my favorite genre, I haven’t completed that many games. Notably no Final Fantasys at all.

Where do ARPGs end and Metroidvanias begin?

what’s more fun? killing stuff and developing your character, or navigating the environment in progressively more inventive, faster ways.

None of us have beaten a jarpeg in the modern age of post-release updates. We’re all just waiting for the patch to drop.

Guys I beat the first Star Ocean. If they hadn’t padded it out it would of been SOOOO good. But they make it wear thin.
