Japanese cartoons

,

I want to watch Oddtaxi but also I will not abide an attack on my phone game horse daughters, whom I love and support (except for Teio, who I tolerate and criticize)

The manga’s like Brotherhood, ie there’s none of the overt Amestris-is-parallel-earth-germany aspects of the 2003 anime but it’s pretty easy to project your genocide of choice onto the Ishvalans. So for example the early 20th century look of things in general combined with Amestris as a military dictatorship with mr black mustache at its head likely brings the holocaust to mind while the depiction of Ishvalans is likely to evoke palestine.

so where do we talk about the news about people who worked on japanese cartoons cuz i need to talk about Konaka being fucking alt right

It’s such a shame that middle aged dudes succumb to right wing brain worms so frequently.

Much as I’m probably not going to watch with it on, I really want to know how the English dub will do the “Gunbuster!!!” interstitials

One step closer to a Diebuster dub…

More on the DigiFes 2021 stuff

Via Bogleech:

Basically the guy who wrote Digimon Tamers (as well as Hellsing, Big O, Serial Experiments Lain and several more) has become a fanatical believer in specifically American conspiracy theories, like he thinks Trump really won the election and 9/11 was an inside job and that our covid vaccines carry government microchips, all of which he thinks are truths being silenced by “political correctness” somehow, so when he wrote a sequel story to the Digimon Tamers series and had people read it live on-stage at a convention, he injected this new battle scene I guess thinking he was sneaking a brave message under the radar of tyranny.

Since his sequel story is being included as bonus material with a Digimon Tamers blu-ray release, fans are left arguing whether Political Correctness is an actual canon Digimon villain

Just learned there’s a mushroom character in My Hero Academia

I guess in the scheme of things I’ve watched out of an affinity for mushrooms it can’t be worse for me than Star Trek Discovery

Thanks for recommending, watched 3 episodes and really a good show

I enjoy the airplane accident ending of its first story, reminds me Mr.Robot. If the music is not so sunny, that feeling may be stronger.

Have you ever heard of Kinoko from Ultra Fight Da ! Kyanta 2, “one of the most accessible and fresh doujin games on the scene today”?

Thank you I have started a list.

I also watched the 68 seconds that Kinoko is on screen in MHA and feel no desire to watch more of that show, cute as she may be.

That was a highlight for me too. I wish they’d done a bit more about her grappling with knowing the future like that, but, overall they decided to keep it pretty focused on the main issue and I’m okay with that.

But also having an antagonistic battle between Vivy and Matsumoto was great and I kinda wanted more, seeing how far Matsumoto would go to keep on-mission vs befriending a fellow AI like Vivy.

Been watching Ranma 1/2 every morning with the coffee and what an entertaining show but man Shampoo has to be the most irritating character I’ve seen in anything just instant go-away heat anytime they’re on screen and it doesn’t seem like they’re going anywhere

godzilla singular point was pretty fun, i was surprised to find myself enjoying the mangled physics jargon they wrap around the monster parts, especially when enough of it was driven by elements cryptic and unexplained enough to not quite feel just like plot machinery by the end. sort of shin godzilla ish in places but with more jet jaguar fights.
