this might be a hot take but i dont think the olympics really pushes back on pedophilia, especially with all the reports of rampant orgies in the olympic villageā¦ and uh a lot of those athletes are underage

absolutely. i wish thereād been more inconsequential āfillerā episodes because watching their creativity flourish unrestrained felt magnitudes fresher than what the main plotline was doing

I enjoy that Demon Slayer show pretty well. Its gorgeously animated. It manages to pull off the intensity of its emotions pretty damn impressively. But there are things that I just canāt quite get behind. The comedy almost always falls flat (though there is a more subtle humorous streak that runs through a lot of it that adds a lot of charm). A lot of it is comedy revolves around Zenitsu whose entire personality is funny anime horny and itās miserable when he gets to chew up scenes. Except for when heās dark and mysterious split personality badass. Then heās just boring. Itās not not problematic that Nezuko doesnāt speak.
My biggest problem though is that itās apparently going to go on forever and I think this show would benefit from a looming ending. The end of this season basically seemed to promise infinite deferral. This could drag on for years. The like fourth to last episode was a big emotional/plot crescendo. The rest felt like it was just checking manga plot boxes.
When itās good though itās top tier shonen bullshit. And sometimes I do really want that.

demon slayer looks cool. i love ufotable aesthetics. garden of sinners seems like their peak.
i watched that gantz: o thing a few months ago and wrote it off as decent trash but itās stuck with me. there is just nothing else like it. itās ova splatter trash as a 90 minute materials rendering showcase.

Just watched the first episode earlier. Definitely a series I can stick with for standout production energy and aesthetics, and put whatever level of storytelling, characterization that comes along, just behind it. Long as it doesnāt rot via trope infection.
Fire Force has cool fights and good shonen fun, but the fanservice is so dire theyāre literally just cutting to a bra wackily falling off out of context as a standalone scene. Dunno if this is just how the manga was but itās definitely one of those animes where it feels like an executive is mandating a minimum horniness quotient

recently, I finally went through with a threat Iāve been hanging over my head for a while and watched/suffered/experienced My Sister, My Writer, a show implicitly about sister fucking and very transparently a quick and dirty Kadokawa light novel adaptation cash-in (see fantastic shows like Noucome (jesus please donāt watch Noucome)) but is more infamous for being a show whose production completely fucking melted down and home of an animator listing their name as, translated, āHonestly Iām Screwedā
of course I had to watch it
the first episode looked fine! was I lied t- no, wait, thereās no ending sequence, instead have a credit scroll over a black screen while footage from the episode plays in a window on the left. but bigger shows have goofed harder, so this is no big deal
episode 2 has the opening and Iām looking at it and itās a bunch of keyart and footage from the first episode thrown together in Premiere like it was an opening from an eroge and the little man in my head has pulled up the glass lid an is steeling himself to smash the ALARM button, but you know, itās no so ba-
okay, I mean, that looks bad but itās relatively on model, nothingās melting quite ye-
hm.

the level of production this show is skating on even seems to have infected the poor soul who had to do the Crunchyroll subs
(the show keeps doing portrait-style pans like this and I hate it)
I am a better person for having seen it and I hate myself for going through with it and also I hate everything, apparently including life itself

then my curiosity took me too far
Miru Tights is a cartoon made by and for really horny people who really, really, really, really, REALLY like women dressed in various thickness of tights. I know this because I read news items that identified the main characters by their names and the denier of their tights, things that taught me more than I ever knew about tights in 30 seconds than I had known in 30 years
