Possible, but probably expensive. All of the real ones I’ve seen in the past few years, either MIJ or MIC, have been priced ridiculously.
I haven’t even been able to find them. Where did you see them?
What few I HAVE seen have all been on eBay, and they’re usually far in-between sadly. Real ‘once in a blue moon’ kind of thing.
Ah, got it. Thanks for the info!
I might try this if there is a video or something that can explain how? Don’t normally do that kind of work.
I’m actually not sure this would be much cheaper, given I haven’t done soldering before and don’t own most of the tools used for this.
I’ve always used a Saturn PS2 pad with a usb adapter. I know the Saturn PS2 pads used to be a lot cheaper than the usb ones, but that may have changed by this point. Having to use the adapter isn’t ideal, of course, but it is an option.
there’s a nice looking hori saturn/neogeo-like usb pad that’s pc/ps3/ps4 compatible on my amazon wishlist. it’s like £35?
Referring to this one?
I might try it just to see how the pad is, but I really am in love with the Saturn’s pad. It just feels right to me. Seems to be a lot of positive feedback for Hori the pad though.
Hmm. Well, I’ll see if I can’t find a video on how to do it. I get really nervous when I do stuff like this. Putting together a PC was nervewracking for me. Always so worried about messing up a part (I guess that’s paid off though, since I’ve never had a PC part that didn’t work unless it was broken out of the box).
yeah, that one
Thanks, I think I’ll try it.
There’s a real Saturn USB pad on Amazon right now, but I don’t think I’m $130 desperate (yet).

Oh dang, never noticed these went up in value so much. I grabbed a two pack off of eBay years ago, and one of them has literally never been used.
I’ll give you fiddy bucks for it
I’m willing to pay about $80 for one, but not faulting anyone for not selling them. They’re hard to find.

Put me down as a fan of the Hori fighting commander 3.5. My only complaint is the shoulder buttons feel a tad flimsy but work just fine.
I assume the knockoffs/clones are terrible?
I have purchased three, two of them didn’t work upon receiving them. The last one lasted less than a month (and had input problems). To say they are cheap is an understatement. They’re pretty close to just being expensive garbage.
I have two clones, the buttons are too clicky but it’s OK
