listen here kiddo back in my day we had one setting for touchscreens hell we didn’t even call it a setting it just “was”, and it was better than any setting they have nowadays i’ll tell ya that.

I definitely agree wrt Switch’s touch screen, but I have a good small stylus which works great with the high sensitivity setting

i’m starting to subscribe to the theory that they were going to do a full mario 2 theme but limited resources or covid or something made them just put in what was feasible
shame the link costume didn’t lead to other non mario costumes
love seeing the mario 1 interpretations of the koopalings just like all the back/forward ported things in this game
The ability to fully lift/throw/ride Banzai Bills with the mario 2 shroom is wild
the weird new baseball toad house actually feels something that would have been a real minigame from the old days
the goomba mask is probably the funniest item of all like if you were in the middle of a metal gear fight and put on the box and they believed you were a box

people are starting to make psuedo secret exits by putting up the codes to a combination lock contraption in levels which is kind of hillarious in it’s complexity

how can we divine exactly how much of the half measures of mario maker are down to extremely calculated master-plan of drip-feeding nutrients to the crazed marioholics at the precise rate to keep them alive but not powerful etc. over the course of 4-5 retail box releases spanning the recent future and past, vs strident flagrant essentialism as misguided virtue, vs like the entire team being like well-heeled high-potential 22 year olds who have never played a mario and gruff 70y-olds with slowly fading memories who previously spent all day waiting to drink beers and now def. don’t know how to unmute themselves in zoom?
appeal to simplest causes and imagine what features you’d cut if you could only ever do half of what you wanted and getting anything past console-wide social features policy means the feature is conservatively three times more expensive

I agree it’s bad, but on the other hand it would probably take me a year to make 40 levels worth playing?
Probably would have been better to implement a total level or zone cap (two 20 level worlds, 3 worlds with 2 zones each, etc) but hopefully they’ll just raise the world cap after people complain.

Ah yeah I thought this was likely by how the worlds were named in the trailer. “Super Ellie World”, “Super Ronny World”, etc.
