I have it on for a 2011 11” air and it’s fine.

If you are paranoid about having your devices broken into by targeted social engineering attacks or law enforcement though, don’t do this

very little is invulnerable to social engineering and law enforcement being able to break into Apple encryption is a question mark

it’s still vastly better than what’s available on any other platform in terms of usability and reliability but it’s true that those vectors exist

If you’re worried about someone with physical access to your machine getting past your encryption, getting physical access to your two factor device likely isn’t that hard
