I get wild hand cramps from long sessions with the RG35XX, I can’t imagine how bad they’d be with the FunKey or something like that. The tiny ones are sorta capable (it seems like they’re good for like, NES and GB and GBC), but they don’t seem like they’re a good time outside of the novelty.
ufo 50 already on portmaster, sicky
Ok that rules. Now what do people think is the best UFO50 device?
16:9, linux, good controls, reasonable price… … ![]()
… trimui smart pro
Yeah, it’s gotta be something 16:9, since most of the games in UFO 50 are 16:9 anyway.
Did y’all see the leak for Anbernic’s proposed dual screen handheld? It’d be nice to have a 3DS/DS alternative that I wouldn’t be terrified to lose or something.
Edit: They’re also making a new Cube, but with lower powered hardware, Linux only, and no touch screen, so…kinda losing all the appeal of the Cube in the first place.
I think it has to be 1080p too bc the pixel resolution is 384x216.
Wait the screen requirement makes a steam deck a pretty bad choice. Hmmm
Edit: I wonder if the positive reports are ignoring the chunky scaling or if something exists to upscale 216p to 800p without angering the pixel peepers
there’s an option in the game for perfect scaling but I think most people just don’t care about slightly chunky scaling. I really didn’t notice it myself though
Steam Deck is a pretty solid get all around. Like you could get a refurbished LCD one for (relatively) cheap and be able to emulate most stuff/run a good deal of Steam games.
It’s hefty though.
i’m curious about how well it works on the rgb30. both performance-wise, and in terms of aspect ratio.
i was disappointed that zeroranger and blue revolver are both listed as worknig on it, but zeroranger doesn’t load at all, and blue revolver crashes frequently enough that it’s not playable
donut dodo works perfectly though and it’s excellent
Have continued to enjoy my RG35XX Plus. It is a bit small. But that’s a trade off for how nice it is to tuck away or have on a desk without cluttering space. I modified it with some new triggers and this neat protective flip cover recently.
what are your poofy jacket house shoes
those are north face slippers. i got them for christmas one year and they’re nice : )
Maybe from Costco?
What the…
This looks like some background shit from a 90s movie. Why the small box around the tiny analog stick that is far below the dpad??
That reminds me, I forgot that I played with the Chromatic a few weeks back and I ended up really liking it?? The Chromatic is the FPGA Gameboy Color funded by Palmer Lucky (ew) that’s slavishly devoted to being a copyright free Gameboy Color.
I thought it would be pointless to have in this era of modded Gameboys with OLED screens, but the magnesium alloy shell makes it super light but sturdy, the screen looks good for the handheld’s size, the speakers are downfiring but angled so it points towards you so it’s nice and clear even at the convention I was at, the buttons feel really good, and it has a USB C out to video. I like it way better than the Analogue Pocket (which has the worst dpad ever, I don’t know why people don’t comment on that outside of all the complaints on the Analogue Pocket subreddit???).
Anyway, I have several modded Gameboys but I still want one. I just wish the case came in better color options and that it used a rechargeable battery instead of 3x AAs.
Here’s some videos of it:
