im playing pokemon fools gold on my woodboy. what a good little guy. i don’t use him very much but when i do it’s wonderful
the rgb30 arrived today, this thing does really seem good for shmups
wow they really stick complete romsets on this thing from the factory huh. Mine came with a kit that included a bag and a microsd to usb adapter. only 20 or so PS1 games though. Tony Hawk Pro Skater runs pretty well.
They usually run kinda ehhhh out of the box. Wanna say Onion OS is the OS of choice for the Miyoo Mini, but I will keep beating the drum for MinUI (though you gotta hunt down some extra emulators for it, the guy who does the main branch is big on keeping it, uh, minimal)
steam’s controller config stuff is so good when its not completely broken…i made something in grim dawn so i could hold a button to switch my hotbar like FF14 and it rocked
Onion OS is alright, missing the “recent activity” tab. I might make my own theme because oof, these themes are kind of obnoxious
MinUI has a recent games tab! You can even launch games from your last save state directly by hitting X.
It just, uh, doesn’t really have a UI (which is the thing I always get hung up on and tweak endlessly, and why I haven’t switched back to Garlic OS, even though it has wider console support).
That said, if it works the same way as it does on the RG35XX, you gotta flash back to stock and then do a lot of little file seeding for it to install on boot. Kind of a pain.
My stepfather gave me this. I’m afraid I’ve been outed as a nerd.
Immediately selecting the coolest game here
My review of the system : it obviously sucks but I like the banana yellow
Sup
i want the ketchup red REME one
ream boy
Oh FYI you can turn on the recent activity tab in the system tweaks app.
i got an rgb30! i’ll be able to give more thorough opinions when the “kid in a candy store” feeling settles and i put more time into specific things, but from my first couple of hours:
dreamcast games i’ve tried: marvel vs capcom 2, virtua fighter 3tb, dead or alive 2, giga wing 2
surprisingly, the only one that had any trouble was mvc2, with some mild sprite glitches on certain stages.
i tried dolphin blue and that seems to be fine, too. i’ll get around to more demanding dreamcast family stuff eventually, of course. if i can play sonic adventure 2 and fighting vipers 2 on a handheld, what a day that would be
the only saturn game i’ve tried so far is necronomicon, which went fine. but of course, that’s a very low-demand game. we’ll see how fighters megamix goes.
game gear and neo geo pocket color games look better than they ever have. gg aleste 3 looks incredible. i played a credit of snk vs capcom and the fact that the system kinda looks like an ngpc (i got the dark blue model) only adds to the effect. i think the last time i played a lot of ngpc was actually on the ancient forebear of all these systems, the gp32.
pico 8 seems cool, but the in-system browser doesn’t seem to have everything that’s on itch.io. i spent a long time searching for the virtua racing demake, with no success.
the miyoo mini plus is perfect for playing Trip World 60 seconds at a time wherever
rgb30 is so tempting bc of the screen & form factor but the way it’s on the not-quite end for reliable DC/N64 performancewise seems a bit of a buzz kill to me, makes the dual thumbsticks seem an ergonomics waste aside from like ape escape or whatever.
were it the same screen & chip with the control layout from these i feel like they’d really be cooking…
yeah i wouldn’t recommend it for either of those things yet, but i been feeling like playing shenmue and im gonna try that on here before i try it on the steam deck - so i guess that says something about how im currently feeling about the ergonomics of it all.
right now??
Right Now!
That does look pretty dang cool, but damn does it also look like a lot of work to gut the PSP.
