They’re paying off the debt for the Gold & Silver Editions they sold back when the game came out.
yeah but they can’t at least throw in “and there’s a guy to kill with 48 hours left” while they’re posting about some scarf they added on twitter?
Seems like it’d be nice but I just have this feeling even something small requires like a week of QA time and they just aren’t allowed to make people happy in small ways.
maybe I’m talking more about myself here
I am hilariously bad at these games. Couldn’t beat a single level past the intro, had to stop trying. I miss when you could resell games
I missed this last Elusive Target because my internet was out
The big unlock for beating all of the New York stories is absurdly overpowered and pretty great to use. Just drop that totally normal looking phone and give it a ring when the target picks it up and pockets it (!).
some scumbag as he’s being garroted: cancel culture is out of control
Hope there aren’t a bunch of coconut related assassination tasks like they did with Bangkok. Those things were a pain.
this game is the champeen of incidental dialogue
This new level is pretty good. Took me a few hours and a lot of trial and error to nail a few reliable ways to take out two of the targets. That said, it feels like your options for Steve, the programmer are a lot more limited than the other two.
Sort of the same problem Colorado had, where there were so many targets that there were only maybe two good ways to take out the guy in the mask. I guess to keep targets from overlapping routes.
Anyway! The “ending” isn’t too bad. I can’t expect them to shoehorn everything from these two games into the third, but I hope they can. The whole “take old gear into new levels, new gear into old levels” thing has been great, if probably a nightmare to plan for.
really liking haven island as a coda
they’ve done “luxury resort” before but this actually feels like an improvement on all of those even so
I got hit man two. It runs p shit on my laptop but who cares. I think this new hitman is maybe my fav game of this like uhh triple a console generation. They are so fucking good man
extremely good. i need to get back to these games at some point. fuck. there’s too many games!
I remember being kind of annoyed with the implications of the final cutscene of the dlc in 2 but oh well I’m excited for more hitman now. the popped collar last seen in the flawed masterpiece hitman absolution returns. hope they can actually make money off this one so they can put the resources they need into that freedom fighters 2, the game the world needs right now, or buying kane and lynch back from square-enix
wish they’d do it episodically like they did 1, it really did work better that way for this kind of game.
I still have played almost none of Hitman 2 (burned by having to get mastery with the original levels again) but I am really happy IO was able to finance this. It didn’t seem like Hitman 2 reached as many people as the first managed to.
I’m just happy that this will be on PS4. The one draw for me from the PS5 conference, and my stuff will hopefully carry over, too.
Reached max mastery in Paris and Sapienza, now I have to do Marrakesh and I never totally liked this level. So much of it is tresspass territory I think it’s a little exhausting.
I did like the bonus missions to marrakesh more than the main marrakesh mission because the targets were in the actual market place area instead of that just being a place you navigate through to get to the locked off school and consulate. and I wished the protest going on affected things more, like turned into a riot eventually or something. felt like that last dlc mission with the storm building up as you progress is a suggestion that they’d like to do more stuff like that in levels.
I love how there are only a bunch of voice actors between the hundred different types of NPCs in this game. It’s my favorite part about the self-aware tone they revel in. Every single dumb ass “hey there handy man!” and “what’s up plastic guy!” makes me laugh. And by far one of my favorite moments is in the Sapienza story mission where you disguise yourself as Francesca De Silva’s lover, and you have to call her on the phone and 47 just talks like 47 and she’s none the wiser LMFAO
I haven’t played any of the bonus stuff yet. I’m kind of hung up on this mastery stuff for no good reason really. But have you played the Patient Zero missions, too? I really have a lot of Hitman content I could jump into but don’t even know where to start! What was your favorite extra content?
Or just levels in general. I’m always interested to hear people rank them.
