My new favourite Souls game
The Dream Warehouse was a really nice moment. They didn’t have to make this so wondrous.
I unlocked the photobombing
Looking at the more Nikki-esque outfits the textures definitely don’t carry as much detail or sense of tactility. A lot more focus on high contrast shadows around creases and diffuse reflections off of sheer fabrics. Nikki gives a much better sense of the thickness of fabrics with very few hard edges. I’m playing these both on PS5 and they’re the same engine so it’s an interesting case of art direction pulling in different directions when the customisation is a big feature of both.

nothings every fuzzy enough in other games like, games are really good at leather and pleather and satin but like, jujo posted that picture of a sweater thats hairs are all over the place
i really want them to do like a worn out old sweatshirt with pilling. pilling would be next level
also yeah when i went into the big paper crane room in the dream warehouse and got to fly around i was like WOWWW THIS GAME IS FREEEEEEEEEE THEY DIDNT HAVE TO DO THIS AT ALLLLLL. i feel that way about all the dungeons though. especially with them having like 8 songs that change depending on where you are in the dungeon. SO MUCH ATTENTION TO DETAIL ITS GREAT

i also copied tulpa and evolved my bug catching outfit for the striped shirt and miku hair
AND I GOT THE FUCKING BOOTS FROM SCAMBA NOT THE JACKET BUT ILL DEAL WITH IT. THE BOOTS ARE PRETTY GOOD TOO EVEN THOUGH THEY’RE NOTHING COMPARED TO THE JACKET 
i was also getting some weird glitch where id be half transparent if i took pictures with the boots but it seems gone now
