What video game sounds do you compulsively imitate?

  • When I was a kid I used to play the SNES Turtles in Time port with my dad. We’d always imitate the voice clips and sounds, especially the sound that bosses make when you hit them. Sounds like “tecmo, tecmo!”
  • “Big Apple, 3 AM!”
  • My gf and I do Klonoa’s jumping sound when we get up from the couch especially heavily – “wah-HUEH!”
  • Every single noise Mario makes in Mario 64. I’m not proud of it, but there it is. You all know what I’m talking about.

Oh yeah, this is a good one! I also like to try and fail to make Yoshi’s “huee-hwoo!” sound from Super Mario World. And also his whole “Yoshi!!” greeting from like every modern Yoshi game.

Wait… Was that Super Mario World sound supposed to be the SNES soundchip approximation of Yoshi saying “Yoshi”?

I used to mumble bits of the killer7 remnant psyche dialogues to myself (roughly translated japanese script read aloud by MacinTalk voices). “It is doing such a face why? Garcie, dont cry.”
