I like the vibes when wandering around Xenoblade Chronicles 1 DE. I think the music is phenomenal and the story is entertaining garbage. But the moment a battle starts, I just stare at the UI and select stuff when it becomes available, and stuff happens, but I have no idea what’s going on. I can take it for a few 1-hour sessions and then put the game down for months before touching it again.
Anyhow despite my better judgement, I might pick up 3 later this year.

everything bad i hear about xc2 is how it’s just slow tutorials introducing more and more mechanics for the whole game… and that sounds pretty good.

i couldn’t even finish the wholesome direct. all the sickeningly sweet aesthetics were starting to make me angry and honestly feel legit nauseous so i stopped. that terra nil game looks cool tho. some other stuff from this is on my wishlist but i’m p sure i’m just gonna wait for unpacking to go on sale and call it done.
i don’t hate the whole idea of this per se. like in a vacuum i am def apart of the demo these pple are shooting for when it comes to things that are ’ calming ’ or ’ relaxing ’ but like wtf bruh i am 32 years old and i don’t understand why that means i have to go play in happytime kiddie world just for things to be calming.
i’d rather play an atmospheric psychological horror or read a decent story in twine then have to put up with these aesthetics in the name of. . .wholesomeness or whatever the fuck. this shit is rank and i get why pple hate it. it seems like a kneejerk reaction to what mainstream games are these days but. . .that doesn’t mean it’s good.
also, really sick of the tokens they keep putting in these streams as announcers. i also kind of hate how most of these games are made by white pple who love to throw brown and black pple into their shit to talk ab diversity or make a statement but these like no black pple in their studios actually making anything.
