I streamed Dengeki Nurse for people on a not-Megadrive Monday, and I have so many images to edit but holy shit what a funny game. Here’s a few early edits but I will have more when i getsome sleep:

i just changed my name on my household discord to “Cara, Queen of the Delinquents” because of this. great title
I watched Tokyo drift but didn’t want to spend money so I installed Forza Horizon 4 on my steam deck from a purchase from before it got delisted. It’s fun driving around in my suburu.
I cobbled together my own damn Steam Machine (turns out hoarding parts from past upgrades over the last seven years worked out, even if my RAM and CPU are kinda weak) and hooked it up to the old 1080p TV in the living room, running SteamOS. It works, 16 GB of slow RAM definitely chokes things a bit (hey, I’ll take “free” over paying $250 or whatever for 32 GB), but it works.
Freed from sitting at a desk and what am I playing? Why, I’m squinting hard to read tiny text from slightly too far away on a slightly too small TV, but I am playing…that’s right you guessed it it’s Hitman World of Assassination, baby
Got 20/20 mastery in Mumbai and moved onto that cool neighborhood level. I’m horrible at the Mumbai level but after all these years I feel like I’m finally starting to get it. May go back in so I can finally fully explore the train yard side of things, my biggest blind spot there.
I listened to the JoJo part 2 Pillar Men theme on repeat while fighting this guy in Demon’s Souls and it worked perfectly:
incredible bit
I will post more Dengeki Nurse in a bit, but I saw this one from Cybernetics High School, a VN + Nerd Trivia game from Gainax that I ahven’t palyed enough of to know if it is a PC-98 danger zone game, but will be completely unsuprised when it is.
I made it to Lance in the Elite four in Pokemon Heart Gold. I have four pokemon about 50 and two around 40 still. The grinding is not yet over.
had a nice four day weekend playing ffix and also slowly getting my alt through heavensward but now i’m back at work so i just come home and play arknights endfield. still a lot of tutorial, not a lot of factory. but at least i can go square square square shoulder button dodge while watching funny video game streamer guy
Even more Dengeki Nurse images, which I’ve had fun editting (spoiler tags for anything too PC-98, though again, grading on that curve, relatively mild):

I got Rue Valley on sale. I got no idea why it feels like it taxes the switch’s hardware more than any game I have on it except maybe the r-type final games. It’s pretty obviously post-disco elysium adventure gaming, as you pick out stats to start with, but they’re personality stats instead of skills which makes success checks kind of hilarious because instead of tasks that check if your character has the ability the screen will flash red to announce that the game is making a dice roll when you try something and then a window pops up that says you have failed t ask for help because you are too self introverted.
And it’s way too western to feel like a successor to disco elysium too. It feels a lot like it would fit in with the state of interactive fiction in the mid 2000s if not for the graphics. I’ve run through the time loop a few times because it’s very short, and it feels pretty good. Get it on something other than switch though. I have no clue how this is eating up so much processing power.
Been playing UFO 50 and Azerette: The Jewel of faramore. Normally I’m not wild about retro-style games (sorry Yacht Club) unless there’s a weird twist or something. Considering one is basically Action 52 (good version) and the other is Zelda: The Faces of Evil (good version), well you can tell I cut my teeth on AVGN videos in middle school
Azerette is fun but I do have my beef with Limited Run Games but I thought the sale price of 5 dollars was fair.
UFO 50 is a delight.
Are… are those prehensile breasts?
I was also wondering about these advanced maneuvers
That is what she explicitly calls her “booby trap” in action.
I had to linger on that one for a bit. I finally decided he must be straightening her tits out.
Yes, they literally are boobs that trap the protags hand in them. That’s one of the many powers of the Guillotine Nurse.
Grindblue Fantasy Relink Endless Ragnarok:
buying this was a mistake. buying the Switch version was also a mistake. WE’RE BACK BABY
Message from Deep Space is slow going, with many many messages to decode, most of which have fairly obvious answers but this density of puzzles is thematically appropriate. In a game where you are establishing communications with an alien species from first principles, it would be unsatisfying if any steps were skipped in the process. I’m up to basic chemistry, which if I understand correctly, is about 25% of the way through the game
