Games you’ve played today: Fourteen by Kazuo Umezz

It’s definitely a game that made me feel dumb, but I really liked it regardless. There were a lot of times where I felt so confident I was right and then I couldn’t have been more off

I’m reminded of a friend of mine who got extremely upset at me because I played the Killer 7 PC port with a mouse instead of a controller. He thought I was getting an extremely inauthentic experience cause he was under the assumption that the aim sort bobbing around and being shakey was removed even though it wasn’t. Same guy also got really into No More Heroes when it came out and bought FSR off the back of that and wound up deeply deeply hating it. His taste is all over the place though cause he loves diabolical pitch and frog minutes, but when I told him what kind of game silver case was he took a tone similar to a kid being told there was no more ice cream.

25th Ward has a puzzle in it you can’t even solve without looking it up because they translated it wrong. Yet another reason it’s the goat

Is the super hard maths puzzle the 987… one or is there a different one? (I watched a PS2 walkthrough ages ago but don’t remember that)

The PS2 version does not have the super hard bonus puzzles, it’s a DS thing

I mean I tried looking it up and the only one I found was 987654321=100, -,+,+,+ or is there a different hard puzzle.

That puzzle only takes elementary school level math to solve

I know, I’m asking what the difficult puzzle is because I can’t find it (help appreciated)

Also I’m playing Romeo Is A Dead Man and while (actual opinion withheld) there’s a REALLY bad graphic glitch which causes the game to strobe for the opening cutsscene and beginning level of Stage 7, so watch out for that.

honestly I don’t remember fsr having any impossible puzzles which is why I could only guess that it’s one of the bonus ones like strangelilfella said

Getting flashbacks to that one perplex city card that straight up asked you to solve the riemann hypothesis to get the right answer.

To explain myself when I posted larrydavidindecision.gif in response to the specific assertion that all Suda games have soul: I mean, sure, that’s a vague term that can kind of mean anything, but even excepting the 50% of Grasshopper games (same as Suda games? who knows??) that are mediocre garbage and soulless by any functional definition, the good games are all by turns antiseptic and phantasmagoric in ways that do not read as soulful to me. It’s like saying Kubrick movies always have soul, or something.

I bought the Rayman 30th Anniversary.

Some things not advertised well about it:

  • The PS1 port of Rayman presented in here is NOT a straight emulation. It’s been enhanced with widescreen and they’ve relabeled all of the button mappings.
  • For the PS1 and PC ports, the soundtrack is a new arranged soundtrack. This cannot be disabled. You cannot use the original soundtrack.
  • The Jaguar port of Rayman is broken. The soundtrack doesn’t loop correctly at all, at least when played on Switch 2.

I think when I said suda I actually meant to say grasshopper, but my brain jumped to that. I do think that most of their out put does have what I would label as “soul” though, but I think that’s probably too abstract to actually define what I really think that means
