You kind of have to replace your thief with one, since that tends to be the easiest way to get a ninja (find and use a Thieves Dagger for the instant promotion), and the only other way is to level up an evil-aligned character so that they have 18 points in every stat. Their detection/disarm percentage goes down from 95% to 75-80% depending on the game. I’ve rarely had it be an issue, but you could always just create a new thief and put them in the party if you keep springing traps.

credit it to Luis Melo, although it isn’t on his web site

The larger version, on that second site, has “tumblr” in the filename, so possibly it came from his now apparently shut-down old tumblr–although that page also links the title of it to another apparently deleted account on ArtStation.

Oh wait his current tumblr is linked from his site:

Completed the early access campaign of Tokyo Xtreme Racer, which unlocks the rest of the cars, but you aren’t really able to use these to advance the rest of the game because there really isnt one yet. There’s a bunch of other racers who require specific cars in order to race against which I might start grinding money for. Anyway, about 15 hours of really good racing. The bosses were fun to race against, the NPCs all had cute stories and dialog, exceptional that Genki have done it again.

update: finished blade chimera.
good as fuck game, would defintiley say it’s ladybug’s best game so far. which i mean is not that huge of a statement to say that though considering it’s getting articles in mainstream game journalism sites and its defintiley their first ever Big Game but with all that said, PLEASE play it!!! the thing im doing right now after beating the game is trying to defeat the superboss that you unlock once you get all the collectables, but i doubt i’ll ever truly 100% it though because filling out the entire item list sounds really annoying and like it would take for-fucking-ever. speaking of which, there are a few annoying aspects of the game too i wont lie, like the fact you can’t warp into the venators HQ, just the entrance, and then have to go through an annoying airlock thing every time (same issue with the peacemakers hq but the door there isnt the annoying part, moreso just the layout of the place ig), and the fact you can only take on 1 side-quest at a time, and the ability to would make getting them all done at what feels like a good pace way more easy. but still. huge reccomend to anyone, especially if you enjoy metroidvanias

(and then once you finish it check out luna nights so i can push my touhou agenda mwehehehehehe)

With Dark Souls 2, Soulsring switches to having bow free-aim / zoom as a button you have to hold down, rather than a toggle button as it was in DeS and Ds1. Holding buttons triggers my achy shoulders so I was pretty depressed about this until it occurred to me that of course I can just change it to a toggle button with Steam Input. ^ D^

This may leave me sometimes inadvertently in 2-hand melee block mode but hopefully that won’t be too bad. ]_]

theres an alright article on the making of ( The Best Nintendo Game You've Never Heard of and Its 2024 Sequel ) [geez ign is rough without adblock ] but seems like the basic history is -

small swedish indie dev colded email to ask for rights at cost they could afford ($10,000), failed, Embracer funded a second pitch from them, it went well enough, some kind of rly tiring grind-style development,
then in 2023 Embracer fired half the team. Re-scoped to cut new stuff in order to polish the implemented systems & gameplay so they could still finish. Dreams of a gimmick 3 implied.

Ah, since I’m pretty much 2-hand only, I can avoid being in toggled melee block mode if I got out of bow zoom by hitting d-pad l/r or /\ by putting the toggle on a Steam Input Action Set Layer and having additional commands on those other inputs to disable the layer, thus cancelling the toggle:

Steam Library - View controller settings - (Steam Input) Edit Layout:

ACTION SETS

  • Default
  • “Aiming bow”
  • Always On Command - Left Bumper (Toggle)

Buttons

FACE BUTTONS BEHAVIOR
/\ Executes 2 Commands

  • Command 1 - Y Button
  • Command 2 - Remove Action Set Layer (Aiming bow)

BUMPERS
L1 Executes 2 Commands

  • Command 1 - Left Bumper (Toggle)
  • Command 2 - Add Action Set Layer (Aiming bow)

DPad

DIRECTIONAL PAD BEHAVIOR
Left Executes 2 Commands

  • Command 1 - DPad Left
  • Command 2 - Remove Action Set Layer (Aiming bow)

Right Executes 2 Commands

  • Command 1 - DPad right
  • Command 2 - Remove Action Set Layer (Aiming bow)

if you have played metaphor this is very impressive
this one notorious roadblock boss pissed me off enough that I found a way to beat him without taking any damage at all, hence the “unscathed triumph” bonus

I am playing on hard btw

Decided to go back and finally finish Citizen Sleeper, which I had left on the cusp of the endgame like a year ago. What can I say, the new sequel is on game pass and it looks hott.

I think I posted about how much I liked this game when I was first playing it. Even though I can’t remember half the characters I’m now having intimate conversations with
it’s still great! I ended up starting the DLC, which seems slight but has a nice story to it. It’s all about scheming to illegally deliver humanitarian supplies to a flotilla of refugee spaceships that have been blockaded outside the space colony you call home. Nice premise, and I like the two big characters it introduces.

It’s really a very well-written game, and the simple tabletop-style dice placement mechanics are satisfying. For the sequel, it looks like they made everything bigger and expanded the core systems – now you have a whole crew who can contribute dice, and you can fly around on your own ship. Nifty, I do want to see what these writers can do in the space opera mode.

is there a decent guide for setting up Mac classic emulation? I followed a Basilisk guide and have System 7.5 and thus no sound in Fool’s Errand

I haven’t looked into it too much yet, but I think @meauxdal was doing a lot with it, so I was going to ping her when I got to it.

Speaking of Cliff Johnson, did anyone actually buy The Fool And His Money? I think he was charging 40 dollars for it - which, to be fair, makes a bit more sense now that it did 14 years ago. But today his website URL is dead

oh this is actually a really good solution, idk how i never thought of that when i played SotFS, i got used to holding it down but im gonna be completely real i think thats completely why my left bumper on my steam deck broke :sob: those things dont feel great to hold down to begin with. something like a ps3 or ps4 controller feels way better.

Oh dang. Yeah and somewhat to my surprise, I’ve done an actual play session using that Action Set Layer set-up for the bow now without hitting any control problems (due to some control scenario I’d have missed or something), so I guess it’s pretty solid.

finally did some helldivin’ part deux today, and clocked the first few hours with a friend of mine, and what can you say, it’s really Starship Troopers:The Game, and looks awesome on my trusty rusty VEGA64.

Great fun when you have a co-op player!
