Games You Played Today VI (III in the west)

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GAME ROCKS BUT I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND THE FINAL PUZZLE I EVEN GET CONFUSED WITH A GUIDE

heres a good interview with trevor ‘never waste a good line on a straight man’ barnes

Paul Mitri:. After you have kids, your memory starts to fade and all you can remember are the names of Pokemon…and when you forget those, you lose all credibility…more than you wanted to know, I’m sure…

shout out to living the high life, never heard of kinetica before, thanks for reporting on that!
my long dormant road rash/XTREME G taste buds are making themselves known, gonna dig around that one later today :tarothink:

something i want to/forgot to point out is that there is no button dedicated to getting the camera to go directly behind your character which, i think, is insane

I’ve been playing a lot of final fantasy 14 stormblood. I have just got to the Azim Steppes. I leveled my dragoon past the msq leveling requirements so I took some time to level up my samurai so I can use the xp on a dps class instead of my tank and healing classes.

I tried overwatch 2 and I am still bad at overwatch and I hate it and I uninstalled it after losing every one of the five games I played.

OlliOlli World (PS5) - some extremely good music. bit too twee for my tastes, but the gameplay is pretty fun. i remembered mikey said they dole out tutorializing too slowly, so i went straight to the in-game manual and read up on the controls first. cute game! i’m not very good at it…

LIMBO (PS4) - i read an old scross post about this game and wanted to give it a chance (played up to the spider a long time ago, got stuck, quit). i grok that this is a pretty divisive game here. while it is still pretty widely beloved, i definitely understood that quite a few people here were rather cold on it. i’m still undecided, myself. i will keep playing. i want to finish this and also play INSIDE next

Toukiden: Kiwami (PS4) - koei tecmo / omega force’s take on the monster hunter style. quite enjoyable, we’ll see if i can stick with it long enough to get a better impression

I think Inside is definitely the better of the two. It has managed to escape, I think, the mid-2000s indie platformer prestige aura that smothers other games that sort of look like it. There’s merit to Inside that really distinguish it from broad trends of that era, imo.

i got a physical copy of blazblue cross tag batle, that came with a code for all the expansions.

it’s interesting to play a crossover game where i’m unfamiliar with almost all the characters. a lot of them look cool, though.

“looking cool” seems to be the driving motivation behind every aesthetic decision in this game’s development. i can’t believe more fighting games don’t have vocals for their background music, it makes everything so much more intense!

sucks that there’s no arcade mode though wtf that’s the most basic thing to put in a fighting game

Limbo was interesting at the time and is probably still worth playing, but Inside improves on the formula in every possible way and is definitely their masterpiece.

We were fortunate to get two towering horror games around that same time in Inside and SOMA.

anyone got a quick rundown on Dragon Quest Heroes vs DQ Heroes II? the first one is really grinding my gears with the pacing and i’m wondering if the second one ramps it up at all, or whatnot… worth jumping ship or should i stick with it? i do really like the voice acting lol

also aurora is the BEST, straight up love her

“Trevor Barnes is an incredibly cool and likeable character, how much of that was your creation?”

hahahahah, excuse me? er, i mean, i dunno if i’d describe trevor as an incredibly cool dude

Think I am done with Resident Evil 3 PS1 as it says You Gotta Fight Nemesis, again. It makes me miserable trying to deal with it’s weird hit box and the camera angles. Think I fought it 4 times in a course of an hour. I kept thinking “what if I played REmake or RE2 again and had a good time?”

at least half of nemesis encounters you can run away from, or theres environmental stuff to help you (you can instakill him with the kitchen or dynamite packs or electrical shit like, at least 3 times). the main reason you fight him is for the extremely good rewards you get for killing him over and over again. There’s 11 or 12 times you run into him so if you dont like it your probably not going to get anything out of continuing, but it is only like a 4 hour game

lmk what u think of this. i played idk like 15 hours or sth and then kinda fell off but i don’t exactly remember why. i think it was maybe that the demons didn’t cultivate deep learning like monhun mons do.

Sega rally on ps3 is a game of all time. Racing perfection. Like ridge racer 7 (or 2 on psp, as we have learned), it is the last of its kind. The final northern white rhinoceros wasting away in a sanctuary, doomed for extinction. It can be yours for $8 at your local pawn shop.
