I am glad I avoided both. I never bought into the hype of either. It’s like I got a sixth sense for shitty games. Too bad it didn’t detect how bad Star Fox Zero was going to be

I beat the OG version of this just a couple months ago but nothing else since has scratched that itch, so I think I’ll try installing the ‘enhanced’ version and jump back in. Thanks thread!

it is set in feudal japan and it has japanese VO with subtitles I can use so it automatically gets a pass in my book cuz I’m tired of really bad asian accents on english VO holy crap

I fled from a battle and now all of my characters seem to be permanently severed from one another.
The usual command to desplit them is not working.
I can run around as any individual but can get no one to follow anyone else.

I think Air Raider is definitely, certainly my fave EDF character now. I love love love Armored Vechicle Grape drive-feel so so so much. Except up hills. Down hills very very very great great great though.

I caved and bought sherlock holmes devil’s daughter from one of those shady looking cd key selling sites. It was alright, more of the same as crime and punishments, which is a good thing but there’s only five cases and the last case is more like just a simple epilogue, the first case is partly a tutorial, the next to last one was a short but interesting case about solving an accident (it was neat cause it felt like when they have a more interesting than usual episode of some procedural show), which leaves two regular cases one of which turns into a goofy tomb raider investigation towards the end, they seem to have one of those every game now. so it ends up feeling too short and insubstantial. it’d probably be better if you paired it up with crime and punishments and played them one after the other.
I wish they’d do one long giant case like ripper had in the style of these two games, with side investigations about chasing down leads and testing theories, but a lot of what was interesting about ripper came from it being based on a real case, so I don’t know how they’d pull it off.
related but West End Adventures (an expansion to consulting detective about sherlock holmes vs jack the ripper from the mid 90s) is getting a rerelease soon
