agreed. it means that catching em most can be done by any trainer with the balls for the job with the rarer few requiring persistence and expertise.
i like it in theory but in practice it’s just an eneverating time tax. RPGs!!
it does sound cool, yeah. everyone has that moment where they are like “alright, well, i’m done with this game” - combee acquisition, a strong catalyst
Playing my ps+ gifted copy of Gone Home. Becoming more and more convinced that it was set in a particular time and place just to fill it with details that would annoy people who had inhabited that particular time and place. (BOON County?)

I’m still enjoying it a lot more than Everyone’s Gone to the Rapture.
I get to select and read and toss thing aimlessly instead of just wading through sludge to watch the next 35 second audio/light show.
Gone Home is really a marvel of interactivity. Calling it a “walking sim” in that pejorative way that’s supposed to mean you just press forward and trigger cutscenes misapprehends its appeal completely.

While Rapture is Walking Sim at its most tedious extreme, a beautiful but totally inert world without a single flushable toilet.

I really oughta knuckle down and beat Darkest Dungeon one of these days. I am in part 2 of 3 of the last dungeon
My understanding, unless they changed it, is that actually “winning” Darkest Dungeon involves finishing that last dungeon multiple times, and any survivors from a successful run of it will refuse to ever enter it again, so I hope you’ve kept a rotation of high-level characters.
Kinda tempted to buy this game even though I’m pretty sure I will not enjoy it long-term because the ideas are interesting
Incorrect. Tis Blue Dragon. A pleasant mix of Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy 5. That reminds me, whats Sakaguchi and Mistwalker upto these days? Last I remember they made a puzzely tactics game for mobile.
