You can just hit a button and you will auto walk to the next stage.
The charge strike is for very specific moments of being real good at the game. Most of the S Ranks on youtube do not play as well as I do. I kept checking them as I was going through and kept discovering “oh I am doing the right thing and more efficiently.”
Guess I should mean by charge strike I mean powering up with the right stick in close quarters. A full power hit will usually take away all health.
started playing rimworld a couple of days ago! it’s a dwarf fortress-alike but with humans instead of dwarves and your people having crashlanded on a planet instead of whatever the dwarves were doing before you took control of them
I know that there are texture packs for dwarf fortress and stuff but rimworld makes me think that if DF got kb&m control and a prettier UI that I didn’t have to install mods for I’d probably never play anything else holy cow
rimworld seems much smaller in scale as far as how many people you’re dealing with simultaneously, which makes me more attached to my little colonists. it’s also kind of similar to prison architect with how you build and how the characters look, but without the weird moral quandries to go with it (that’s not to say prisons don’t exist in rimworld, you’re just building them to keep pirates that attack your colony as opposed to, you know, maximizing profit margins)
I like it! it’s great for an early access game and it runs on my laptop just fine! it’s also 500mb which is amazing
Finally finished my placement matches in Overwatch
Level 50! Woo! Dead median! I’m actually pretty happy about that
Of course I immediately dropped to 48 as soon as I played another game
Zelda Randomizer in Zelda Classic.
It’s really, really entertaining.
I think I’ve won one Ranked match since my placement games, I’ve been dropping like a stone. I was placed just under 50 and I was super excited because getting above 50 seemed like a small and achievable goal for the season but maybe not lol
playing Braid for the first time
I guess you had to be there??
The writing is stupid sophomorisms but the platforming gets pretty inventive towards the later worlds. Final level is the only time the narrative and gameplay coexist in a meaningful sense.
I got the impression that the overwrought writing was self-involved intellectual Tim’s voice (which, not coincidentally, is probably also self-involved intellectual Jonathan Blow’s voice). That’s probably a cuter trick than it ever really earned, but it was marginal enough and the mechanics were compelling enough that I was OK with it.
The last stage was a Great Moment in Games for sure.
Pikmin 1 was ok and 2 was tiresome but 3 is fantastic, wow.
I finally got my Wii U working online and Splatoon is amazing
I’ve got to play Pikmin 3 soon. I have the same feeling as you about 2 being tiresome, but i really loved the first one.
Dropping my playthrough of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Far too much busy work, even in the main quest lines. Now I need a palate cleanser, something snappy, breezy.
Have you played Hyper Light Drifter yet? It’s got snap and breeze in spades.
Yeah, I played through at launch. It compelled me effortlessly, which is what I seem to need these days. A lot of games lately I find myself having to “work myself up” to a play session.
Headlander is my next suggestion then. Whenever I pick it up its always just “for a few minutes” but then turns into an hour or so. It moves right along pretty easily.
Alternatively play Abzu then come back and tell me if it’s really Journey-but-underwater.
I think I played up to the point where you become the inquisition (or maybe just past that, to the point where you get your class specialization) two or three times trying to make it a good game and after all that I was just like nope
it does give the impression of being a nice meaty comfort food RPG but it just gets too dumb + tedious, you’re better served to play the original with mods
I rarely loved Braid while I was playing through it (although I didn’t hate it and some parts were legit clever) but its climactic stage is a 10/10.
abzulutely?
Oh wow, that sounds even nicer than I was expecting!
