always thought it was funny that the decomposition on that guy made it look like he had a cape, as if some ghosts and goblins dickhead tried to fight kraid
Kraid would be an easy boss for Super Ghouls n Ghosts tbh
what i mean is i thought the junkoid games were cute, and thatās all fine, but getting some light monster grossness (admittedly only castlevania level) makes it more fun for me
but yeah, itās the same and different from super metroid, which iāve already played through twice
i got something like halfway through super junkoid last night and now i just wish i could go home early to finish playing it
Anodyne > Minit
landed the space shuttle. the kiosk has three levels āpitch onlyā āpitch and rollā and āno fearā . i did the middle difficulty. you basically point the fucking nose at the ground and pull up at the last second.
there was a lunar lander game in another part of the museum and when you crash the lunar lander tumbles comicly across the surface of the moon while pots and pans clanging sound effects play. highly comedic
I got the 1cc today. What a wonderful sense of relief.
Iād basically mastered stage 3 since our posts and was fairly consistently getting to stage 4 without having taken a hit and having used only 2 bombs. But the pressure really got to me, and I would often perform somewhat inadequately on stage 4, and then even worse on stage 5. My heartbeats would become these heavy, hard thumps, and my fingers would get sweaty. Iād always be wiping my fingers and analogue sticks on my shirt between levels to stop them being slippery.
Hereās the replay recorded on my phone. I didnāt commentate lol I just wanted to sip my beer and relax.
Some brief notes:
I died 2 stupid deaths in stage 3 which I think actually allowed me to relax. I wasnāt even thinking of it as a proper run anymore, I was just letting my lives run out basically. Then I died another bad death in stage 4. I always destroy the first dragonflyās head, but I guess this time I let the popcorn enemies distract me for just a bit too long, and so I wasnāt used to the head still being there and I just flew straight into it. Then in stage 5 I dropped an unnecessary bomb and died a dumb death that demonstrates the problem with my running along the wall method of killing the big bullet-cancelling enemies: if you move up too quickly you have nowhere left to go. I ended up making it to the final boss with decent resources, though I wasnāt stressed at all cause Iād made so many silly mistakes. And I honestly think I dodged the last boss pretty well!
Anyway Iām very happy to have achieved this. Itās my first 1cc of what I would consider a legitimate shooting game. I know mushi original is basically designed to be a gateway game for the real shit but itās still a pretty fucken difficult game.
Nowā¦ whatās next
thatās awesome! good shit. i havenāt gotten to play it as much as i want but iām still recording games. iāve been doing some stage-specific practice and i feel like iām getting closer even though a lot of my games go to shit in the same way it sounds like a lot of yours did. with a little luck i could do it at my current skill level, or i could just get slightly more consistent or i could be less stubborn with my bombs.
in theory iām better at 4 and 5 than i used to be, but itās still very easy for me to make mistakes.
such a satisfying game, though. when you dodge a particularly complex or fast pattern it feels like youāre seeing the matrix. the most fun i have is when i feel like iām barely in control.
finished this
i took like 275 screenshots over the course of my playthrough
i have no idea where to start with this one
Played a little of Humanity last night. The soundtrack really stood out to me. It sounds a lot like my favorite Battles record, La Di Da Di.
And given that a battles song was so prominent in peopleās memories of Little Big Planet, it lends this game another wrinkle in the suit that makes it look exactly like one of those iconic PSN-era indie games from the early PS3 days. Itās also pretty fun too.
thanks for the inspiration!! i 1ccād this morning after seeing your post. my run def has some mistakes but bombing more liberally is really all i needed. what a fun game!
after the firemen, went on an accidental human snes rampage, following it up with fire pro joshi dream slam and taekwondo
iām almost embarrassed to admit that i picked up and am playing skyward sword hd and that iām actually having a pretty good time with it. i dropped the wii one super-fast back in the day, but iām enjoying swinging my sword around with the right stick.
taekwondo kicks ass
it does! iām becoming more and more a fan of these kind of low-scale 2d combat sports games. i was being totally sincere when i said that the dojo masters trailer looked like a game iāve imagined making/playing for a long time
I havenāt played any games, but I did start pre-installed Armored Core 6.
Cāest la vie.
Maybe Iāll play some shit, but IDK, Iām kinda running out of steam in Breakpoint and not super interested in playing a lot of other games at the moment.
finished super junkoid with 100% completion. it was good!
who the hell is Hammerwatch for
itās like slow, boring gauntlet with no pressure at all. except itās also an annoying maze?
also there are one hit kills, so itās possible to die because you moved half an inch too far onto a spike trap, despite having spent the past hour barely taking any damage at all
were people so desperate for co-op games in 2013??
actually i guess probably yeah, damn.
EDIT: okay so i thought the game was a roguelike but itās not. so itās a dungeon crawler, but holy shit is it a boring one. i wonder what happens when you lose all of your lives though
I will never want to play it because the name reminds me of Hammerfight and Iāll just want to play that instead.
Hell yes congrats!!! Awesome that we both got it on the same day
