Games You Played Today Oratorio Tangram

why dont more games have dashes like Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance

I finished Witcher 3 tonight after getting through two sets of ā€œfinalā€ quests during the hurricane. It’s very satisfying. It’s incredible that they tied up all of the threads from the books and games without making everything stupid like MGS4. There’s a particular quest in the third act in which an elf takes you through a series of Rick and Morty portals to sci-fi worlds that makes me very excited for their next game.

I also happened on a beautiful mechanical quirk. I was in a blizzard that caused constant damage and without any healing items or the ability to create more. I figured I’d have to use the magic shield to run from spot to spot. An ability on the magic shield that absorbs damage as health let me use the blizzard to heal myself. The game is light on emergence in general but it was very fun to figure this out.

I think I’m going to play the expansions now that I’m back in it. Smaller doses.

There’s a really weird, gross hog in observer

i have a ton of n64 games now but am still struggling to find a decent joystick

sellers like to attach aftermarket sticks and not even call them refurbished

fingers crossed for the one i just ordered from ebay. also fingers crossed that opening up my shitty one (to clean the plastic dust and grease it) will yield an improvement. i also ordered some replacement parts for the black pivot gears. we’ll just have to see i guess. if this fails i’ll probably try the gc-style replacement modules with a custom pcb to correct the bad deadzone, excess ranges, and increment skips (no fine control)

I would love to play Hotel Dusk in VR. I’d sleep with Oculus on and wake up and wander around Hotel Dusk and talk to my friends and eat imaginary steak

the stick has a metal base and the MakoPad, unlike the SuperPad, was a licensed product

i have done so much research into this it’s kind of scary. i’ve looked at probably every aftermarket controller ever made for the n64. they are all deficient, including this one, the competition pro, and the hori mini pad, though those three are arguably the only 3 non-oems you should even consider. i remember using a superpad back in the day, and while this one has better build quality and is more durable, the form factor is shit, and the buttons are meh and don’t have the right spacing.

have you tried strafe-running/keyboard style grips in GE/PD on a super/mako? it’s not gonna work

I mean, if you want to play GE/PD, you just need to accept that you’re using one of the two-controller setups

only when i’m forced; using right index to scrape A+B on right pad using GE/PD 2.4 scheme is not good for anyone’s hands:

alien finger (1.2 style, thumb on c-buttons, index crossing over thumb to reach A+B) is hand abuse:

keyboard style 1.2 (overhand, fingers resting on top 3 c-buttons, index or thumb for A+B) is the only thing i can rock currently without pain:

The Lord’s work. That’s what you’re doing.

I got the all the achievements in The New Order twice. And once for The Old Blood!

There might be a few things wrong with me.

Also I am still playing Minecraft every day going on three or four weeks now. I’m not even doing anything! Just dorking around in there while I listen to podcasts, documentaries and stand up comedians on YouTube.

Lately I’ve been going through the process of removing water from an area of ocean and making giant pits. Made a long land bridge out into the middle of the ocean a ways away from my home base area and have been dumping sand/gravel, stacking it from the bottom to the surface of the water, then removing it and making an ever wider area that is just a giant pit straight down to the ocean floor.

I’m looking for one of those underwater temples and I think I’m close because there’s lots of those guardians around now. I still need to finish my castle and my wall and explore the nether and tame farm animals and ride a horse and and and.

It’s overwhelming sometimes.

Also The Evil Within was on sale over the weekend for cheap a I go it and am halfway through chapter 2. I like it, kind of a mix gameplay-wise between Resident Evil 4 and The Last of Us. It’s got some good sneak-stabbing.

homie play it on fightcade

Goddamn I was unaware that this had come out and I have too many games I want right now and no money at all ARGH.

Fightcade looks cool. I will check it out.

The vita version is pretty slim on options, but it looks and plays well from what I can tell. I’ve barely played windjammers before this though.

this is not so much ā€œgames you playedā€ as ā€œgames you watchedā€

my brother downloaded the destiny 2 open beta thingy and i watched him play for awhile.

a) the gunplay looks amazing
b) the jumping mechanics look amazing
c) it looks like a lot of fun in co-op with buddies

but also

d) the visual language of the game is nigh epileptic. any meaningful action - using a melee attack, firing a weapon, using a special ability, being struck by gunfire - causes sparks to fly, screen corners to go red, particle effects to drench my screen, and more. it’s so bafflingly busy and overstimulating - and this is on low settings. even the UI is overstuffed, unintuitive, and overwhelming, despite having a very clean aesthetic.
e) the multiplayer seems to pretty much suck ass

I dunno if I’m into this three tap putting in Everybody’s Golf and I’m worried it might be even grindier than the old ones and I wish it was portable but it’s nice to have a new Hot Shots.

It’s definitely more extreme in D2 than it was in the original Destiny, though as a player you learn to tune that out over time

I would love to hear what you think is bad about it.
