You’ll have to let me know, since mine isn’t!

pfft

tried some ghost recon wildlands. only enjoyable if I LARP my military training experience, otherwise it’s pretty disappointing. just a tacticool open world arcade game.

i think that’s pretty much what ubisoft is. just loads of potential in almost all of their games, but such a crushing disappointment at what could’ve been.

i wish more games were friendly to modders, especially ubi games.

I couldn’t find the games-you-should-be-playing-today-but-you-bought-the-game-before-buying-a-playstation-4-and-then-all-the-playstation-4s-were-sold-out-everywhere thread so I’ll just pop this here. at least the booklet is nice ; (

People still play virtual on OT on Xbox live! My dream came true today as I got fucking destroyed many times by people with like tens of thousands of matches under their belt.

A young man finds himself caught amidst the turmoil of his own dark, desperate thoughts.

“Am I a scrub for only doing throw confirm infinites? Or perhaps they’re the scrub for getting hit by them…” he thinks solemnly to himself.

His contemplation reposed.

“I am an X-men!” he reassures himself, “Don’t even think about it!”

Life goes on.

some windows update seems to have ruined my life because now all the sudden the mouse skips around in dosbox

Playing Fallout: New Vegas. Cazadores are some of my favorite enemies in a video game! I don’t mind most insects (in fact i quite like them), but wasps still terrify me, so the basic idea of a gigantic, lethal tarantula hawk is amazing. And i love that you’re meant to underestimate them. The first swarm you can run into is a few meters away from the cemetery in Goodsprings, where you fight a bunch of harmless giant flies, so they seem like something you can take on; you don’t realize you’re out of your depth until it’s too late. Also i love how they look, the way their spines pulsate is really unnerving.

Cool game

edit: if you have not seen a tarantula hawk they are also fucking scary huge IRL

I thought for sure Renfrew’s El Dorado Gate LP was longer but I guess not.

Though hey I started playing this! Episode 1 Chapter 1 took about two hours. There was very little to the battle system or my tactical options other than attack and pray I don’t die. The lack of actual leveling means I did not give a shit about random battles choosing to run and pray I didn’t take too much damage before I succeeded. This led to me having to try the big tough boss about 5 times because I had long run out of healing items and had no options outside of get lucky.

This is making me think i will not stick with the series for long and am eying Episode 2 as maybe I won’t play it. I think the next two chapters of E1 are just as short so I will see how those go. Also 6 and 7 are very expensive and not feeling it is an excuse to save money and time. FF9 is looking pretty good now.

Started playing the ds animal crossing, after spending a month or so with the 3ds one. It feels more lonely.

The anticapitalist stuff in these games always feels weak willed but this made me laugh.

It is time for me to bitch about something absurdly minor.

In Professor Layton & The Miracle Mask it includes a year’s worth of daily puzzles that are completely different from the ones in the main game, being much more traditional puzzle game fair. Tied into this is an empty room where every 20 or so puzzles solved you are given the choice between two different furniture options, like two different couches or desks. You also get a reward if you clear every type of a specific puzzle type (20 different types, roughly 18 of each kind). There’s not much in the way of pictures of this online, so accept this low quality pic of a completed room:

I’m in this for the puzzles, but this is a nice enough side thing to personalize along the way. What drives me nuts is that about halfway through it runs out of new options to give you, so it’ll just give you the same choices again while also removing the item that was there previously. Again this is an absurdly minor thing that doesn’t even need to be there, but if I’m making progress and personalizing it don’t start removing parts of it because the math of how often you felt like rewarding the player vs how much stuff you wanted to design didn’t match up; it makes me feel bad.

vermintide 2 is dope. i love the dwarf’s big meaty hammer. i like the “you can actually dodge and block” school of first person action games over “you shoot things and are a damage sponge” school of anything

CW: TALKING ABOUT “HENTAI” FOR "FAMICOM"

I just spent 2 hours gamer streaming a not very good Famicom soft porn adventure titled BodyConQuest I: Girls Exposed.

I did not beat the game but I exposed all the girls, live, on twitch.tv, which means I’m a real deal bad boy who loves breaking the rules.

I don’t wanna get banned though so please don’t rat me out, everyone. I gotta get rich soon and I think the only hope of that happening is by getting famous by poorly playing 30+ year old games on twitch.tv.

BodyConQuest is not a very good game, but it is easy. It looks like Dragon Quest and plays like Hydlide. Or Ys. But Ys is good and Hydlide is bad, so more like Hydlide. The combat system is just bumping into enemies. You can play this game one-handed. That’s how you know it’s for “adults only”.

You are not likely to take any damage from enemies unless you fast forward your emulator. Then if you bump into a mob you will likely instantly die. Do not ask me why this is. I may be a game developer but I’m not some math wiz who knows how Famicoms work.

You see there’s a shortage of babies being born in this world. I am unsure if this means everyone’s shooting blanks or just refusing to bone but there is a curse, and almost everyone’s got it. So the king adopted 3 sisters from a far off land and made them his princesses and they are all missing and they all have heart-shaped birthmarks in very intimate areas. You rescue the first princess very early in the game. She proves she’s legit by mooning you, then teleports home to the king.

The next daughter you meet dies after showing you her heart. And the third one is just chilling in a town filled with people who have turned to stone. The only other resident of that town is a fortune teller who gets better at telling fortunes when she’s “completely starkers”.

If I don’t get rich and famous from gamer streaming maybe I will start a psychic hotline…with nudity over the phone.

Here is the final tally of “hentai bits” we viewed live, on gamer stream:

I did not beat the game but according to GameFAQs I saw all the “good parts” and would need to spend who knows how many more hours grinding (in a bad way) to see the ending so I’m chalking this up as a win. I have save states and screenshots of all those “good parts”, by the way. They did nothing for me but…if they’re you’re thing? I can hook you up, and I won’t shame you for it. Please DM me if you’d like my Paypal – I think it’s only fair that I be reimbursed for my time and effort and everyone who doesn’t watch my gamer streams should have to pay a fine.

Thank you.

shiren5-oldroad

i finished another shiren 5 99f, this time the Old Road(旧道). final equipment baffle axe, beast shield, sleep-protection bracelet.

in that dungeon, satiation does not go down with turn count, but once a minute, real time. also every few floors your maximum satiation drops by 4. if you are a reasonably average speed player, the maximum drop is far more deadly in the long haul, so you need to focus most of your food eating habits on keeping it raised up.

not tooooo hard if you happen to get a good kit to farm a nigiri beast. at 25f i used up every projectile item i had to get myself around +100 max satiation, this lasted me until the end of the game, where i had about 70 remaining.

unlike most of my other runs, i ended up with a less conventional equipment setup. had trouble finding a shield for good long while, nothing good dropped so i eventually settled on the beast shield. at +20 with the gitan consuming defense bonus fused on it i, uh, still took pretty serious damage at endgame. never assembled explosion or fire resist either. (come to think of it, i never even saw a single dragon grass the entire run…)

primary weapon baffle axe worked out really well! it has somewhat lower damage than other weapons but confuses enemies up to about 30% when at max rank. stacked it with all the other status effect bonuses and the double-attack bonus to dramatically rduce incoming damage.

i couldn’t get anything together to farm for arrows any point, so i ended up burning a looooot of staves at the endgame. highest moment of anguish: wasn’t paying attention and a nigiri beast made food out of my pot of 5 staves.
