I just fucked around with vampyr from game pass and it kind of rules? it’s like dishonored x witcher x pathologic, it’s super goofy but feels very enthusiastic

just a big gangly action RPG trying real hard

Hey, I liked it a lot! It tries way too hard, sometimes, but overall it was a fun romp.

Gangling, arguably more than the sum of those parts? I am just dragging on Pathologic playing and against my diligent checklist not likely to finish the other two.

almost certainly less tbh but even so

I am in a very fresh cut shlock mood, will peep it then.

Dark Souls Remastered (PS4): yet another crash-and-burn, I’m afraid. got as far as the Gaping Dragon before realizing I’d spread myself too thin when leveling up, so I tried to start over and ended up making myself sick of the game all over again.

Remastered feels so unimmersive :slightly_frowning_face:
it’s like shining a white operating lamp onto something that had such a carefully settled balance of shades and hues beforehand. instead of evoking mystery about scale and depth the scenery is all exposed, laid bare

eventually but I’ve had enough for now

One advantage of D’Souls: you can always level up more.

Don’t worry about the character creator. Put all the sliders to one side and enjoy your monster in a monstrous world. This time, just get End to 40 first. Only level Str and Dex when you have a particular weapon whose requirements you want to meet.

Give Dark Souls 2 a try. It let’s you respec your level points with an in-game item. And you can get a couple of them early in the game.

I now give this game a failing grade since it ends with dogs and cats living together in peace which is in total violation of both real world and cartoon logic. It was bad enough that you spend a quarter of the swimming underwater as a cat but this is too far. This is wrong.

Momodora: Reverie under the Moonlight is another excellent metrovania to try out where you spend part of the game as a cat, and the water swimming is as a human

I am playing Blue Dragon. The battles in this game are much too slow. There is a certain enemy I’m encountering that will do multiple turns in a row and if they are able to get a pre-emptive strike on me I have to sit and do nothing but watch the screen for between 2 and 4 minutes (depending on how many of said enemy are in the group) before I can attack because of how slow their attack animations are.

I just walked into a cluster of three groups of this enemy and I have spent approximately thirty seconds out of the past ten minutes actually playing this game.
