have traded roguishly a bit more
i keep shooting my own dudes by accident
am trying to pick all the Be a Genuinely Nice Person options because that’s kind of the subversive thing to do in warhammer?
parker if you can figure out a way for me to play cods for free (I stopped after the original blops was such a hilarious piece of shit after the high of MW2) I will do it
I’ve now encountered the rhino-headed ax goblins and I retract my claim that this game is fair.
I got both infinite warfare and cold war on sale a few months ago after having ignored the franchise for like 15 years and was very unimpressed by what I’d missed
i tried a bit of black ops 6 & completed the intro mission + all the lil hub world “puzzle” minigames (they got the oblivion lockpicking in here) and its time to uninstall… had 2 make space by uninstalling the metaphor refantazio demo.
i was thinkin i gotta wait like 8+ years between playing call of dutys to enjoy the little stuff they messed w/ to have fun with their big budget vs. obligatorily copying over mission structure & gameplay and realized thats exactly the release schedule of Metaphor/persona.
Been playing a lot of Parking Garage Rally. My thumbs hurt. You bank boost by drifting after a boost, so you go faster and faster. Some obstacles can be cleared by going fast enough to blast through them, or over them. But if you go too fast over ramps you’ll also get stuck. And there’s skips. And there’s online multiplayer, and local multiplayer, and it’s a lot of fun, and pretty cheap! and it has ska music @Rudie
I know the band that did the soundtrack! I haven’t bought it because I haven’t felt like playing it yet. I bet the soundtrack is good.
The Holophonics do really great work when the singer isn’t singing. (I mean they used Chrono Trigger as a theme for a personal abusive relationship.) They have an excellent cover album of Jimmy Eat World’s Clarity and an equally fantastic Donkey Kong Country cover album.
Weird Time Attack Ska Soundtrack Saturn-Visual Racer seems made for me yeah.
It took me 3.5 hours but I beat Legendary Axe (with unlimited lives). What a fair but brutal game. I felt it taunting me, you think unlimited lives is gonna save you?
A game entirely about timing (with either or both input lag and lag from my controller.)
But it learned a lesson where so many games didn’t about Not Pressing The Button.
It’s on Game Pass now, so while not FREE free, well…
Finally stopped fiddling with settings and actually started playing Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Why it surprises me that these games made by 200000 people at Ubisoft look so goddamn good is beyond me - they’ve looked really good for a long time. But the day and night cycle over Baghdad, especially as the sun rises or sets…good stuff.
Again, Mirage was raised from “another season of Valhalla DLC” to “smaller but full sized game,” and I think it’s to its benefit, because it plays just differently enough from Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla to throw me off. It’s hard! They did away with the Dark Souls 2 shoulder attack buttons and instead have you hold the regular attack for a stronger one. Combat is pretty goddamn hard early going and where I tend to breeze through most of these games I’m just scraping by in this one.
Also don’t recall having guards shoot down your eagle/raven in the past few games. Then again, it’s been a while since I touched an AC game…I was supposed to be done with these…
Astro Bot: Rescue Mission is the closest platformers have come to a dimensional redefinition since Mario 64 and a game that’s truly ahead of its time in every sense of the world while also being incredibly fun and varied while Astro Bot himself remains the most rizzless little tweed I’ve ever played in a video game and despised looking at all 360 degrees of his focus tested head. If you gave this to the Splatoon team (VERY suspicious of how close the final boss in this is to the octobot king) it’d be like top 5 game for me but instead we have a lineage of three tech demos all punching WAY above their weight.
Also it’s VERY interesting to me that Playroom & Rescue Mission is so heavily advertised with Cameos and Remember This’s when this game is wholly original outside of the hardware. Asobi clearly got the correct feedback but rather than employing non-dyson aesthetics they had Sol Badguy and Jill Valentine strike a pose in the search for appeal.
Sorry everyone please observe the general absence of clothes, accouterments and breasts and reset your brains to a simpler, more innocent time where penguins had punk quiffs and Flicky was a failed Sega mascot
Coromon is really shameless about being just “Mobile Game Pokemon” and while it’s pretty competent (I like a lot of the monster designs very much!) it wasn’t doing enough to make me want to keep going. It felt very “we designed this game to address all the common Gamer Gripes about the series we’re aping”.
I’m good now, curiosity satisfied
Yeah, there’s a bit of revisionist history going on with the new Astro Bot game that people only care about it because of the cameos, but there had been a decent amount of people clamoring for a new game since Rescue Mission, and then even more since The Playroom. The Playroom had all the PS Hardware collectibles, but it didn’t have cameo characters in the same way as Astro Bot (2024) does so it wasn’t something I think people were on the look out for. The reveal trailer of Astro Bot (2024) doesn’t even show any cameo characters in there and yet it still got a pretty strong reception from Gamers. I think people were just happy Sony was making something completely different from what it’s delivered for the past decade.
But Astro would be 1000% more appealing if it’s personality wasn’t just disco dancing and flossing. Ironically I think the games would benefit a lot from defining a world these characters exist in rather than keeping it as light and straight-to-the-gameplay as it does.
A few weeks after buying Nintendogs I had a dream that I left the DS unattended for too long and died and all that was left when you booted it up was a tombstone that you could toss like a frisbee before you get a new dog. You should be able to do this for all the characters that sony Murdered with the power of VR and all of the Astro Bot Chums.
yeah, and Sonic was touring with Madonna
he wanted that human tail way before 06
Loving your playthrough commentary, but you just put the song back in my head with this one. Ambivalent feelings cause it’s a good song, but it doesn’t need to be in my head.
Also if there’s a way to get through the murder investigation without flipping the Hardies, I’m astonished, because both my own playthrough and every stream/vod I’ve watched went that route.
Costume Quest continuing the grand Double Fine tradition (for me anyway) of a game I love nearly everything about except actually playing it.
What? It totally has Siren and Nathan Drake and Bandicoot and and and. Like I was confused this was even a bullet point for 2024 because I kept thinking “they already did this.”
