Wow Crucible is really really bad. It’s GLACIALLY paced. The map is gigantic, the characters are super sluggish, and the grappling hook character I picked felt awful.
Overwatch is high art compared to this thing.

if overwatch is a moba then the TDM mode of titanfall 2 where there’s bots mixed into the enemy team is also a moba and I refuse to accept any more of this bullshit from gamers

In this tower you’re limited to a certain number of moves, after which it’s GAME OVER. I have 5 moves left. That line right there counts as one move. You take the shortest path to the square you’re pointing at. I have NO fucking idea how to optimize this at all! It makes me really anxious! I’ve played 30 hours of this game!

Snowrunner update: I putted around the Alaska map some, which is a real beast compared to Michigan. That ice/mud combo, woofah.
I very precariously Spider Manned my way with a winch along a river pipeline (instead of just…going around), always one little fuck up from sending my Chevy into the deep, and hauled out a flooded Hummer. Dragged that bastard as far as I could until I ran out of gas, then came back with my off-road truck (like I should have done in the first place) and dragged both back to safety.
My payment for the job was that Hummer, which I proceeded to paint hot pink, as tribute to the kid in high school whose mom dropped him off and picked him up in what I can only guess was an officially licensed Barbie Hummer.
Anyway the Hummer does OK, even with minimal upgrades. Kept thinking of the reoccurring Hummer jokes from Arrested Development when I caught a small rock in a bad way and flipped it, though.

Finally I can play in windowed mode without turning my resolution way down or using Windows magnifier!

The most recent tower I beat had a fuckin’ sphere grid leveling system. Instead of giving you a choice of stats, you instead received keys for leveling up. These keys could be used to unlock items in this hellscape:
There are 6 reward floors like this to work through. This is the bottom one:
There is a down staircase there that I never reached! I wonder what’s on the other side? It took me 3 hours to “beat” this tower for a bronze medal. Guess I’ll have to spend another 3 hours to potentially find out.

I kept on playing Alien Resurrection, it gets easier with more ammo, but then it also becomes less interesting because it becomes more like a normal FPS. At least they don’t make you fight humans too much, and it’s still pretty tense. But after losing too much progress due to the fixed save spots, I decided to just use cheats to peek through the rest of the game.
So yeah, rest of the game is mostly an Aliens FPS. The penultimate level is a slog, but the final level is pretty cool. It’s just you and the newborn chasing you as you try to get rid of it like they did in the movie. Felt a bit like Aliens Isolation. Time to move on now, though!

On the final world of Ring Fit Adventure. Gonna be sad when I ‘finish’ it but I’ll probably continue with custom routines or something.
Also seconding that Splatoon is where it’s at for modern shooters.
