Playing Harmony of Dissonance for more than 30 seconds is a waste IMO

HoD is the best one on gba

it’s certainly the most like…extreme one. It’s weird to come out of the other end of this with such a middling opinion because part of me feels like I should have a stronger opinion one way or the other.

But there are a bunch of things I like and a bunch of things I don’t like and in the end I’m just kinda in the middle! It certainly made me feel a bunch of things, which CotM didn’t really. That game lives in the brain a lot more for me, HoD lives in the stomach instead. All I have are gut reactions.

Honestly wished I liked it more because the things I like I like a lot!!!

Just started Aria of Sorrow and it feels very much like coming home, which is appropriate I guess. But I do love this game. I’m not sure I can be unbiased about it, considering it’s one of like five games I have 100%'d.

I was also pretty shocked when I unlocked the variety pack in WW GiT and found that it was just a few multiplayer games

I love the core game more than any other in the series though. I think it’s a good game to be consumed by for a little while (but not too much) The multiple characters add so much chaos; the game really shines playing with All characters, but becomes supremely futile at the same time because high scores are so reliant on randomness. And that’s what’s great about it! I just got Penny against Mona’s boss and it was such an enormously impossible task for stupid reasons that I laughed

True tier list now IMO right now is :

S: Dribble/Spitz, Ashley, Orbulon
A: Wario, Mike, Red
B: Cricket, 18 volt, Mona, Crygor, Mantis, Jimmy
C: Lulu, Penny
D: Kat/Ana, 5 volt, Secret guy
F: 9 volt

Got to the WW:GIT end game and am warming up to it more. Definitely not 100%ing but am enjoying missions and feeding my employees gacha junk for mild rewards. Wanna try and see every game at least once. I wish 5 volt wasn’t so slow to reset.

I wish people would complain about it’s actual gameplay problems and not how it looks and sounds (awesome.)

The aqueduct in HoD is like 3 straight hallways where every half-screen at regular intervals, a merman pops out of the water at whip range, then just stands there. You whip it three times and keep walking until the next one

imagine reviewing this work

“What could improve this level on the next iteration?”
“What player skills are you testing?”
“How can you strengthen the narrative on this space?”

I think someone here did this abrasive soundfont job. I love it and kind of wish the whole game sounded more like it

Even more fishmen

“What player skills are you testing?”

Whipping

“How can you strengthen the narrative on this space?”

The fishmen should squeal in agony when they die

deathloop: definitely been a little while since I intuitively liked something this expensive (half life alyx I guess?) – very propulsive, feels great that arkane are finally doing something other than remaking a looking glass title, my main complaint about new prey is that it felt like it was going through the motions of being an immersive sim and this is immediately recognizable yet new. I also don’t think I realized how much I missed the brief run of excellent id tech single player shooters (doom 2016, wolf 2, death of the outsider) after youngblood and doom eternal left a sour taste in my mouth; environments are great, guns feel great. the journal UI clearly takes cues from outer wilds re: tracking down a time loop mystery, and they help to really ease you in at the start, but this feels like an ideal premise for them to finally get the mileage that they wanted out of reusing and building on dishonored’s maps rather than having you just whip through the levels and be done with them. “lost island mystery” is such a durable premise and I’m surprised that it took this long for other genres to reinforce early 3D space this way again. and the dialogue is great! actually fun characterization!

nothing but good vibes off of this one so far basically

Really wish Deathloop wasn’t exclusive to PS5/Windows for a year. Like, I was ready to buy it this evening and then was like oh nope guess not see you next year.
