Games You Played Today: 358 Threads Over 2

Genichiro and the level design immediately before and after him are fun

v reasonable to hold a grudge against the game for the bullshit journey it sends you on to prep for that fight though

I’ve resigned myself to not playing it due to RA but maybe I’ll just turn cheatengine up to 11 for sightseeing

Hey this is the philosophy that got me through 3 playthroughs. I think it is because even if I didn’t personally like the game and the way it played it is such a well executed toy that I couldn’t pull myself away.

Yeah sure I hate this, but is is viscerally satisifying constantly and no video game is as good as this mechanically.

Absolutely, it’s a masterfully crafted thing, super taute and directed without compromise, and the stubborn forefront of my gamer attitude wants to play it differently than the very specific way it wants to be played

It could be that I’m going through a really rough depression giving me a foggy lens to enjoyment but as it is right now I really don’t feel good about any of the game’s feedback

I managed to unlock that MR2! It’s good! Finally, something rear wheel drive and reasonably powerful. It’s nimble, fast and fun

I’ve also climbed to fourth spot on the online kudos leaderboards (I love that someone restored them, as well as the time trial leaderboards and the entire original (U.S.) mini site)

I think that’s all my hands can deal with of gripping that controller this intensely for today, though! :sleepy:

Dragon Quest 3 SNES sure is some nice comfort food when my life is shitty and weird.

I let off steam against a Chun player called ARIANAGRANDE who had impeccable confirms and actually knew how to parry my unblockables (incredible)

I beat this game tonight and became the ultimate jiggler. I loved it! What a neat little platformer!

I beat Sekiro again, largely while in bed, I think it’s From Soft’s best game that isn’t Demon’s Souls, I also understand why anyone would dislike it. Best game, best player (me),sad I’m done with it, fighting the urge to replay it, wanna think if I do anything else I’ll feel way better tomorrow.

Got a steam key for Death Stranding, a game I absolutely hated on PS4 cuz I expected 3D QWOP and got something way more removed from the experience of having a body. My opinion a few hours in:

Death Stranding is Assassin’s Creed for people who own at least one Unknown Pleasures parody t-shirt.

Have I delivered this bottom line to at least 4 other people tonight? YES. I have no shame.

Sincerely can’t believe 60fps and playing on very hard hasn’t lead to a reappraisal of this game, def thought it would happen, God I wish I liked this thing, maybe it’ll happen tomorrow. Pray for me.

OK I changed my mind, Lady Butterfly is putting a big smile on my face. Granny Ninja is digging deep to my childhood Naruto obsession

EDIT: just beat her on my second try

EDIT EDIT: NEVER MIND

I am 58.24% through Blasphemous. As soon as this game had me fighting pretty much another player with no friction the enjoyment went out the window. Like a fighting game where you can walk through the opponent so spacing is an absolute mess. Except if YOU try to walk through the opponent YOU take damage.

I do like seeing all the blasted Catholic Imagery though it has gotten less as you see where they hired out some of the backgrounds and particularly sprites. That’s what they get for having a best of class character sprite you see where it doesn’t match with everything else.

So far one of the Search Action items has only been used for more bullshit items and the markings for other Search Action item have only implied ā€œyeah there is like an empty room with an item, but you want that % right?ā€

I sure do hate this genre when it does this.

Yooooo I remember this game has a really interesting fish eye camera that works really really well. Or maybe I’m thinking of the sequel?

isn’t it funny?

I had the same reaction and it seems pretty common - you ā€˜get it’, and the game insists on punishing you, and then if you take the abuse long enough, your hands learn it too, and it all opens up for you

I don’t think so? And I’ve never played Project Gotham, so I’m not sure

i think it’s one of the weird ā€œcheatsā€

i can’t remember how you access them tho

despite there being a literal ā€œcheatsā€ menu the internet seems to have memory holed any actual cheats for MSR, there’s only the tip about reducing kudos loss when trading a car, and the one about skidding to a finish for an alleged kudos boost on the next race that session

Undeadline on MSX2, with beautiful pixel and system depth, much better than same title on the sega genesis port. It’s a good example show how to mix up with RPG and Shooting.

Lots of fun but haven’t beat it, keep trying.
