i’m replaying apollo justice after how many years? i think i’m twice as old as the first time i played it.
it kind of sucks and its difficult to explain, so could just be i’m kind of set on it being bad but… fuck i dunno. the dynamic with the prosecutor isn’t doing anything for me. the middle case villains are underwhelming. i kind of do dig your evil mentor being the first killer and main antagonist tho. next up is the last case so lets see again how that landed. it’s fun how even before any reveal he spends most of the time just digging into you with a smile and constantly demeaning and insulting you. like we could’ve spent more time with this guy but then it wouldn’t be a surprising first case huh?

I don’t have this, but I do have world ignition, the version that you can’t even buy anymore. I’ve never played it, despite owning it for long enough that I own the version that you can’t buy anymore. why have I never played it? I guess because anytime I think ‘maybe I should play crimzon clover’ I just decide to play [Cave game X] instead
so I decided sure let’s play crimzon clover. and it seems ok, I guess. DFK + Kamui/Soukyugurentai very literally. I wasn’t really feeling it, I felt like I would just rather play one of those three games instead. but I haven’t been feeling much of anything for a while now, so this is probably not the game’s fault. also I had to use lossless scaling to find a way to run the game at more than postage stamp size. and I had to set my stick to keyboard mode for it to be recognized. luckily I both have lossless scaling and a stick that can be set to keyboard mode, so I had that going for me.

I don’t remember Gujian 3’s translation being particularly bad, but I was probably just used to it after the Sword and Fairy games

Gujian 3 is definitely in the top 25 percent of chinese rpg translations and that’s more an indictment of the state of chinese to english translation than it is praise for the translation in particular

I finished Warcraft 1 today. It’s funny how the two sides are so similar but the Humans are still WAY stronger than the Orcs thanks to how much better the Priest is than the Necrolyte. Seriously, Heal over Raise Dead? Necrolytes are complete dogshit.
There’s some individual things I like about it - units have wider vision when standing still, roads (if they actually did anything other than serve as connective base tissue) - but overall it definitely feels its age, ESPECIALLY if you don’t play a source port like War1gus or the Remaster. No context commands… strict unit selection limit…

Funny because half the time when I play some other scrolling shooter I realize I’d rather be playing Crimzon Clover yet again. (Obviously this isn’t the case when I play something like Mushihimesama, so your point stands.)
Before you write the game off, I’d recommend experiencing at least one (1) Double Break.
I don’t remember whether Ignition supported a rotated monitor but Explosion looks great that way.
