I beat the eldritch horror in Pokemon Ultra Moon through the Use Sixty Healing Items Until It Has No Moves Left Strategy. I then won my last island challenge, but apparently have to collect seven flower petals before it will count as done. And then there is The Elite Four, which don’t actually exist yet but a guide says they will by the time I’ve gotten all the flower petals, and I will probably have to grind for twelve more hours to beat them, which is already making me hate life. But ok.
I played Death Stranding up to the beginning of episode 5 back when it came out, and then for some reason I completely dropped it, right at the point that everyone says it gets good. Well, sequel hype got me back into the first one. I tried loading up my save and had no idea what was going on or how to play, so I started over from the beginning. I’m almost done with episode 3 now. This game is so good. I’m hooked all over again. It’s shocking! Every time Kojima puts out a game I think “I can’t take this man seriously at all,” but then I play the game and it totally rules.
one of my friends who plays this game since original GB always called Pokemon as Pokebully: You got a Pokemon and then everyone in this game will Bully you.
Pokemon is sort of absurd in how horrifying it is for the Pokemon and then future games just solve this by emphatically denying it and sometimes inventing bad versions of things that already exist and are asserted as good (the cryogenic freezing of pokemon in Ultra Moon seems exactly the same as putting them in Pokemon Storage Boxes but because it’s visceral and the game tells you it is bad, that is bad and indefinite storage is fine. One of the villains is an animal rights advocate, etc.)
can someone not make a mod that ‘re-skins’ the dialogue?
MLB Nicktoons for Xbox 360 with Kinect Support is real and can hurt you.
What’s the best Tony Hawk Pro Skater, if I wanted to play only one?
i like 2 the best, but i know a lot of people would say 3. also the ds version of american sk8land is very good too.
don’t play the hd remakes. i’ve seen some praise for them, but they’re bad in a lot of very tiny ephmeral ways that all add up to an inferior experience. stuff like how the music continues playing constantly across the stages, menus, etc. that just make the whole thing feel kind of cheap in that expensive modern way
Mine is 2 on GBA, feature special sound effects play as a slot machine and skater runs smoothly like a pinball hit the machine with addicted speed.
but don’t listen to me.
Thanks!!
THPS3 on PS2 / Gamecube / XBOX is the one
Wonderful! My “personalized” Wii U cannot wait to host it ![]()
I honestly like 4. That was the point at which they were starting to burn people out, and it offers only marginal improvements over the previous games, but is the most well developed version of the mechanics and core gameplay loop IMHO. Especially if you’re only playing one game you don’t need to worry about getting burned out. But it lacks the nostalgia factor and isn’t as punk aesthetically.
i disagree that the contention with 4 was burnout. 4 abandons the 2-minute time limit which sounds good on paper, and is an interesting change-up, but ultimately really leaves the game feeling listless. it’s also way heavier on NPCs talking to you and giving you missions which is a major buzzkill versus the challenge list in 1-3
You could blitz through the first game in an afternoon if you’re used to the systems. I really love its stages. 2 has some great levels as well.
I rented a GBA and this from Blockbuster for a trip with my parents when it came out. game looks and sounds sooo good.
The Monument Valley series really has some serious diminishing returns from one installment to the next. Even with their attempts to freshen things up, the first is the only one I’d recommend to someone. Didn’t even finish number 3, I got about 90% through, hit the first puzzle that asked me to really use my noodle and I said “nah I don’t care” and uninstalled it from my phone
THPS 2 is pretty much the definitive experience in the series, the original still had some things to figure out and later games started to slowly but surely sag under the expectation that they each must bring something new to the table each and every year. 3 is still pretty good if less tight in terms of park design, 4 was a legit attempt to freshen things up by stealing the approach Aggressive Inline took to things, beyond that is just diminishing returns.
I just have Victory Road and the Elite Four left in Pokemon Ultra Moon. Feeling pretty good about my chances to be honest. Some of these fights have been challenging but I seem to be doing ok at figuring out the one exact path to get through tactical challenges with my present team.
My current team is
Decidueye
Slowbro
Lopunny
Peliperr
Gumshoos
Aerodactyl (underleveled, late addition, have literally never used one move from)
Dungeon Clawler is one of those deck builder roguelikes ala Slay the Spire but the gimmick here is that your “deck” is items which can be pulled from a claw machine. The machine is also full of fluff to get in the way of your claw, and as you might surmise your enemies will dump crap in the machine to mess with you too. Including items which harm you upon being dispensed.
Okay, here’s another twist: the machine can also be filled with various types of fluid and this interacts with the baubles therein. The simplest is water: some stuff floats and other stuff sinks. So you’re not only looking for item synergies in terms of min/maxing your damage etc, you’re trying to build a mix of items that are reliably retrievable each turn. Shape, size, weight, all become things to consider. You can get different types of claw for your machine, further driving your item choices.
Also this game has the hardest intro cinematic in any mobile game I’ve ever played:
