Woke up early to enter a tournament in the lowest rated game in Steam’s history*…wish me luck…I enjoy this game a lot even though I’ve been very bad at it lately…
*It’s not the current lowest ranked game though…it’s now merely “Mostly Negative”…because some brave souls said “Hey I like the gacha game even if the monetization is bad”…thank you, brave reviewers. Thank you
Been playing X4: Foundations. Started with a slow trader with a pretty big cargo cap. for its class, and no weapons. I bought a bunch of high value cargo I can’t offload and and currently scramble to find a place to sell it.
It’s fantastic.
Kinda bugs me ships don’t have limited fuel supplies, tho. IDK, just feels weird it isn’t there.
I lost my first match. I forgot I was in a tournament. I decided to experiment. And it cost me. I went “Oh. I was in a tournament,” when the loss screen popped up. I am very embarrassed right now. Please give me strength. More than you already have. I need it.
Spent more time playing GTAV yesterday…dunno how much time I really wanna spend on it (I beat it on PS3 on release, played a good chunk on PS4, and now here I am yet again).
It does feel really nice to play it at well over 60 FPS, I will say that. This might be the only ray traced game that doesn’t kill my PC outright, but is also doing it…sensibly? Like you walk out of a store and see the clerk behind you in the glass, that makes sense. Hitman’s Mumbai stage having a dusty construction site with shiny perfect standing panes of unmounted glass reflecting everything in perfect mirror sheen, less so.
I can’t say I’ve dabbled with ray tracing too much (again, given performance issues) but this has been the most practical and therefore impressive use I’ve seen? Like someone coming up on my bumper reflecting in said bumper…that’s good! That’s cool!
That said I went into Michael’s daughter’s bedroom and something about all the shadows cast by all the trinkets in her room just fucking tanked my framerate. Big open city runs fine, small bedroom and the fans are going whole hog.
It’s not just the size of the text, but also the lack of contrast when you scan in the daytime. I wouldn’t betray my reliable ancient hand-me-down plasma screen by getting a 4K, but it is kind of a pain.
So I was thinking to start Death Stranding 1, at some point in July. I have a question: is it enjoyable to play it offline? Cuz I can play only like that with my current hardware
In some ways it can be better offline, if you like the building/repairing aspect and want to plan everything out yourself instead of just fine-tuning your routes based on things built by others.
One thing the sequel has even less of so far than that first game is the feeling like you’re on a journey when traveling between destinations. And I think playing offline might help with that. But maybe I’m just subconsciously comparing it to SnowRunner.
Online is mostly faked in death stranding 1 so you are not missing out if you don’t buy into the illusion. Its like a more diffuse version of how the multiplayer in journey is faked
if it worked the “real” way it’d be like where in ultima online they had a real ecosystem for five minutes before everyone immediately extincted all wild life and resources
I had read, some years ago, and logged it into the back of my mind, that there was an example of the 4 player motion-enabled Lindbergh-based “SDX” version of Outrun 2 SP at an arcade out in a mall out in the suburbs. So I finally took the 45 minute drive out there, today, and it turns out it’s all true, it’s been there all along, just like they said.
512 BB station was non-functional,
sound/speaker on the Dino was faulty and had crunchy and jerky cab motion and a loose feeling gas pedal,
F50 seemed to work fine but with weaker audio,
360 Spider seemed to work the best out of the lot but the gear shifter didn’t work right.
Seat adjustment sliders iffy on a few of the setups
LCD’s resolution all looked…bad, basically, not sure if that’s how all of these machines are, though.
Paid $20 for the four plays, I will not forget them
Currently scheming to determine how I can broker the sale and transfer of this machine to the freeplay Cidercade downtown.
Holy shit. Praying for you. I saw a cool Time Crisis 4 arcade at my local mall and they finally got rid of it. I just hope they didn’t trash the machine.
I hope you can put this in a place where it can be better loved.
