I bet they’re specifically building the dynamic tower so we can make our rotating tower platforming level dreams come true

Played like 2 levels of wario land 2. i kept wanting to play a simple platformer on the plane and I found it really satisfying.

Also a very little bit of Doom for the SNES. this is unplayable.

Me, for the last decade: Look, GTA V was OK but I don’t think it deserves to be talked about this long, come on.

Me, dabbling with the Enhanced Edition on PC, running down a guy who mugged a woman with my car, getting out of the car, going to throw a punch but accidentally ragdolling into the street, immediately having a car roll onto my head, and the mugger shooting me directly in the ass and killing me instantly: Hey actually this game is alright.

Feel like this is a decent avenue for rereleases, if it’s done the right way and the art direction was strong enough to begin with. The character models are a little dated, but all the ray tracing and stuff really does make it look pretty fantastic.

Cool. I have an Anbernic RG35XXH, and I’m thinking about eventually getting another one of these little guys.

Gecko God: OH MY GOD LOOK AT THIS GAME. You’re a little gecko guy and there are some graphics just assaulting your eyeballs. Then OBJECTIVE: DO SOME STUFF showed up and my heart sank. And i got some collectible from a vase. And New Bug Discovered when I ate a bug. And it just made me sadder and sadder because the game really doesn’t need any of that.

I think top 10 game moments of 2025 is gonna be being presented with a Tomb Raider jumping puzzle and going “nah I’m a little lizard” and just scurrying around the walls skipping it. If only the whole game was that. Instead I had to 1/3 Unlocks to open a door to a boat.

I’ll probably buy it because I love being a little lizard and it just looks fantastic. There has to be some Unreal shader going around that does this because two other games I played recently had it.

Late to it, but also Ys III even on the PC-88:

It’s impressive in action (starts at 3:12 of this video)

It’s def in the air bc my partner and I just picked it up again too. We never got past the part where GDT shows up, but we got to chapter 2 the other day. I’m liking it- stuff like everyone pronouncing Amelie differently, the zoom out panoramic stuff with that (sorry2say) really bad music, how the traversal part slows the pace down, broad sci-fi shit, etc. but we just started and 40 hours is a long time kinda. Then again, it’s summer break

I saw every single ending and it took about 150-200 hours. It’s a borderline miracle I would play a VN for that long. The game’s inherent bloat and repetition didn’t negatively impact pacing that much, there always felt like there was something else around the corner, maybe two or three in-game days away.

After the initial terrible first impressions I eventually grew to like most of these characters (through sheer repetition?)

Despite the game’s nature as a monstrous frankenstein collage with constantly shifting timelines and stakes, it somehow can manage to make you stare at the abyss a few times (high praise)

I’m happy to have experienced this behemoth

I see 0 Valkyria Chronicles DNA in the game though. Non-VN gameplay is paper thin. Battles stopped pushing back about 10 hours in. The board game is set dressing. Most of the active player participation ended up figuring out which character would like which gift based on their personality. I just could have simply given the same gift over and over and it’d have been more efficient, but it’s not like raising bonds did anything beyond unlocking one cutscene

They don’t tell you this but the female protagonist in the system shock remake is a trans woman…how bad ass…

I won’t say anything about Death Stranding 2: On The Beach here. I will say I’ve never more wanted a 4K screen. The game demands it. The text is usually unreadably small. Detail and distant stuff just gets lost because there are too many effects.

I’m sure a 4K 80 inch TV would solve these problems over my 1080p 40" reasonable TV.

i’m really noticing this playing the first one on PS4. every video i see has larger UI text and i have no idea how to enable it

death stranding 1 still : woops i got pulled off my reverse trike trying to climb the mountain to port knot city and ate by a BT and caused an actual huge fucking voidout crater??? they really did that, changed the map and everything! this game fucking rules, it’s still surprising me

also the fact that occasionally when you’re in your private room norman reedus will just go into a random mo-cap animation breaking the fourth wall to get you (the player) to look at something by pointing at it etc, but you have to wait for him to stop doing that before you can interact with whatever object he’s gesturing for. it’s like the game is saying no you may not interrupt your friend mr. norman reedus. wait your turn in the conversation please. lol
