Ignoring games with tons of re-releases that are considered all-time classics.
What are some games that had a baffling amount of contemporary ports?
Anything have more than Zoop? Surprised they didn’t cram out an NES cart.

does Zoop have more contemporary releases than Lemmings? I always imagined Lemmings was the absolute king of this.
here’s a neat list
of note, it’s not “contemporary” here, just what MobyGames spit out in 2017 when sorting by number of platforms. down the thread someone looks at some updated numbers.
still, it’s a good jumping off point. guess i need to click on “Tristam Island”? I’ve never heard of that…
oh it’s this apparently:
Okay, Z files are definitely cheating though.
if you’re talking about Tristam Island, the dev actually compiled binaries for most of those platforms (he counted 36 apparently), the z3 file is just for the ones that don’t have a native port and only have an interpreter
I could see street fighter 2 kneecapping itself with the special genesis version, but the lack of MK1 or 2 on that list feels off.
Oh damn, I figured he’d just bundled it with an interpreter. Nice one.
this is all from MobyGames

so, contemporary ports are 9 for MK1 and 10 for MK2, from here. about on par with Zoop, yeah?
