good. can’t figure out what the point of playing this would be if it was
The 100 endings are all supposed to be at least somewhat elaborate. I already got a cheap short ending by choosing to not do anything at the beginning of the game, and it didn’t count
I can’t confirm how good the real endings are yet, because I haven’t seen any. The game’s structure is one first long playthrough with no choices taking place over 100 days in-game (approx 25-30 hours?) before the flowchart begins. It IS super long
Hundred line can really be considered as Danganronpa L4 with a little tweaking so far. I skipped Rain Code because of the tepid vibes + these games just can’t work without a closed setting and a limited cast IMO
Rain code looked like a game you couldnt get me to spend money on with a gun to my head but I still want to play it because danganronpa is awesome. Lol
Rain Code has a few flashes of DGR but it is so awful by comparison lmao
the horrible pace of the first hour of the demo was offputting (prerendered PS2 shovelware-level cutscene with anime stock tropes → short interaction → in-engine very budget action scene → prerendered PS2 shovelware-level cutscene with even worse anime stock tropes), I hate the new mascot characters and I feel there’s not enough reality on the screen for me to truly care, but I can’t lie, whenever I see screenshot like this I get impressed at Kodaka just pushing his extremely lowbrow project to its logical conclusion. DR’s fandom is extremely performative about hating him for being problematic, as if you could excise some abstract ideal of Danganronpa from the incredible messes he creates, and his response is just giving them his fav eroguro recs, absolutely no pretense, pure undistilled goods
Hate to agree with the gamers but adas voice acting in re4 remake is remarkably bad…I feel like removing anything suggestive or possibly sexual from re4 is insane and whoever was like yeah she should sound like you’re being berated by an automated phone system at the welfare office is as well. Capcom acts like it wasn’t a load bearing part of her character in re4 that she was talking to leon like she was trying to psychically make his cock explode from a distance while wearing a cool and highly impractical for combat dress. Like resident evil isn’t about hot people killing monsters and flirting with each other. Ridiculous.
the actress pops up at the end of Nicolas Cage’s Dream Scenario, has four lines or so and shows more emotion as a nameless realtor than she does for the entire game as Ada, it’s remarkable. I blame Capcom’s voice direction, the guy dubbing Toshiro Mifune in the latest Onimusha trailer was responsible for the worst videogame line readings in my recent memory
I have been thinking about how the first line she has in the entire game, in the chapter 6 opening cutscene, is one of the worst line deliveries I’ve ever heard for the past few days. Luis sounds…okay…so it’s absurdly jarring
I had heard she was bad before hand but this was like hearing Pacino talk for the first time in Carlito’s Way in terms of stun damage
I honestly did not think that was gonna sound as bad as it did.
Putting the RE4 Leon meets Ada scene side by side with the remake version inflicted way more psychic damage than I thought it would, tbh.
I just reached the end of Bionic Bay. It’s my pick for best game of 2025 so far, even if I found one segment right at the end frustrating.
Here’s a screenshot I captured (not of the frustrating part):
That thought led me to look up a list of games released so far this year. And I can’t believe a direct sequel to Phantom Brave was released a few months ago and escaped my notice.
Some indonesian factory worker (afaik anyway) released the most amazing game of 2025: VIETNAM WAR…
the best I can describe it is that its literally like an mdickie game. it runs at 15 fps, shit is just happening all the time and its completely ridiculously overcomplicated yet seemingly totally broken in every way,.
the first time I started it up I fell 75 feet out of the sky and instantly died slamming into the beach in Da Nang. There are packs of monkeys and tigers roaming around that give you XP when you kill them, and they’re the only shit that’s discernable at a distance at all. I took a shower and my Mental Health skill went up. My character just randomly started smoking a cigarette when I was walking down the street and every single civilian started screaming at the exact same time. There are constant explosions and guttural noises assaulting you at all times. the map is over 1000km² and contains all of Vietnam and most of Cambodia/Laos???
please look at the fucking skills system
i dont think any of these actually do anything or make you better at anything as far as i can tell skill ups just seem to be an increasing tally of the times you did something. I shot a guy and my patriotism went up after an AI voice clip of a tiktok guy said “Eat lead…fucking COMMIES” and then I instantly died and respawned in place with this message
most amazingly is that your character has a home state
and when you finish around 351 days of gameplay you actually get discharged and sent home to a giant open world US map with multiple states where you can like drive around and go home??? and I think you can sign up for the army again???
A shooting game where you can actually finish fighting the war and have to figure out what to do with yourself afterwards, and yet also has a button dedicated to ordering your guys to shoot civilians … could this be art?
I accidentally set a bar on fire trying to light my cigarette because if you pull out your lighter it’s basically like unleashing an uncontrollable 12 foot geyser of flame so I stole 42 dollars out of the cash register and bailed. The entire time my Stimulant skill was going up for blasting a cig. My character is suffering from “mosquito damage” on their torso and “snake damage” on their legs. I found speed on some guys bed and got super high before wandering into some random guys house and falling asleep. When I woke up my character said I NEED A CIGARETTE and then I had to eat a castlevania meat leg to avoid dying of hunger. I have no idea where to spend money or how to get more food. Every friendly soldier I encounter lets out a low quality, incredibly loud scream when I approach them. when I loaded my save the loading screen said “Tip: Stay close to humans to ward off tigers”
This is my Psycho Patrol R
i wont play it but it seems really cool
I am going to go to blacktown. I am going to buy a GameCube.
I’ve started playing Final Fantasy Tactics. I didn’t expect the game to be as difficult as it is, but I’m not complaining! Every fight so far has felt scrappy, most wins I have gotten are by the skin on my teeth. The final battle of chapter 1 was where it felt like it might have gotten a bit too difficult?
I managed to defeat Algus by holding out behind the tower building and blasting him with spells as he and his crew come towards me. Getting the final hit by having Ramza clonk him over the head with a staff was both hilarious and satisfying.
Out of curiosity, I went on youtube to check some playthroughs on how others might have tackled the fights I was struggling on, and I’m pretty sure they had their units a couple of levels higher than I would of had, so uhh I guess I’ll pat myself on the back for that?
My only real advice for FFTactics is to get a visual map of the job tree and plan roughly where you want to get your team members and what skills are out there.
likes so:
You can play it by ear and be surprised by new classes as I did the first time but if you don’t want to grind too much its really nice to be able to get to skills you might like to try efficiently.
And get the Gained Jp Up skill.
And And make sure you rotate your saves.
Goddamn, I just beat Phantasy Star IV and what a fuckin’ game that was. I don’t even know what to say other than hell yeah, Sega.
Mostly played Skin Deep today. It is as I expected, which is to say: peak. Wonderful game. Easily GOTY so far, one of the best I’ve ever played, deserves to be enshrined in the canon of fantastic imsims alongside Deus Ex and Prey.
Panorama Cotton (Switch): it kind of gives me Yoshi’s Island vibes, of all things- hits a lot of the same (“Ooh, pretty!” / “D’Aww” / “How’d they get [the system] to do that?”) buttons
obligatory mention of the repro Megadrive carts they did for the rerelease
