Future-Dots Games

The first time I played Cyber Protocol, I thought it might be my last. Same with the second time and particularly the third (that level 23). But now I’ve accepted that I’m going to keep playing this game, punishing as it is.

The introduction explicitly says that collecting everything is optional. But it’s hard to resist going for a just a few more dots when the levels look like Pac-Man, even after determining that there’s no way I am going to attempt to clear most levels perfectly.

One frustrating part of the game is when a new area isn’t visible until you’re right in the middle of it, and you must repeat the preceding parts on death just to have another shot at figuring it out. Kind of like an R-Type boss, I guess, though this game at least has checkpoints.

But I really like the busy screens full of flashing colors and the future of eat-dots mechanics. It’s enough to impel me to keep at it.

This game was 70% off earlier this month (when I bought it) and probably will be again.
