This controller comes up every once in a while but I keep thinking there’s no way it can actually be comfortable to use for extended periods of time?
It’s probably not comfortable for any period of time. It looks about as comfortable as a Dreamcast controller.

I have one. It’s pretty comfy for my giant hands, but man, the coating on them gets so gross.

I also had this, it’s ah, reasonably comfy? However, as Booj says, the plastic on the controller separates and becomes super-sticky and awful.

there is this, if you’re feeling brave:
apparently 70% alcohol can get the grime off
there’s something very appropriate in a Slime controller gradually acquiring a protective layer of ooze

I need to get back to DQVII at some point. I started emulating it on the 3DS, maybe I’ll just get it on the 3DS. Also, hell yeah to walking on water.
oh no, I tossed mine when it got covered in dust and gunk. Windex made it worse, eventually it was so gross it got stuck to the bag it was in.
Looks like the alcohol completely removes the outer rubber coating.
When new it was pretty comfortable though. Your hands sit in a very open configuration.

Finally been subbed, a NHK special that interviews Horii, Toriyama and Sugiyama. The best part is it’s hosted by Takayuki Yamada, Mister Yoshihiko himself. And wait until you see Horii’s apartment.
