yep

Instructions:

ā€œI feel there’ll be a winnerā€
bet it all on 12 or 14
restart if unsuccessful

I believe you can save before betting, even, locking in her feeling

I am a bit confused! Does this trick work on the casino in Puerto Valor, or Octagonia?
I only have access to the former, right now.

its specifically for the octagonia big jackpot roulette

honestly i just love the sound of the slime slots so i got rich by leaving them running for hours with an auto-clicker lol

i did the octagonia jackpot thing later on, too, but yeahhh

SLIME TIME

After the introduction of both venues, I didn’t do much with XI’s gambling until the last waves of completionist mode. I only remember spending large bursts of time checking w/Jackpot Sensor Lady. Oh and building up the ingredients needed for some late tier gear.

Save state scummed the casino ship in DQV PS2 for a little while, didn’t offer a great boon but. My patience with their Sugoroku demands it.

hello.

i just played through absolutely all of dq11 in like a week. i did nothing else basically. it ruled. merry christmas.

havent read any of this thread yet.

im sure this has been asked before but, how is the fan translation of 5 on snes? i wanna play it with those graphics if the writing is good. also, does the ds version make the game more friendly in any way?

the ds version lets you quicksave which kind of owned when i was playing it on my flashcart

it’s also just much, much faster. likewise (even moreso really) for the ps2 version. the snes version feels pretty stiff and sluggish to me with the other options available.

the 5 snes translation is fine. nothing flowery or heavily accented like the ds localizations which might be a negative or a positive depending on your preference. it works just fine though.

strongly recommend ds or ps2 instead

This game is lovely because it is so refined. I am loving it.
Damn. i have been playing for 108 hours now, and I am (i guess) close to the end of second act.
It’s probably the most huge time sink I have played. I am playing many hours during these holidays, hours and hours per day because I would like to push it forward as much as possible.
It’s really so nice.

And when you kill metal slimes it gives so much satisfaction.

Ah’ve a bit ova soft spot for the DS translations

Thanks for the info buddies. I played 6 on ds so I feel like I get that vibe and those graphics. Decided to just check out the snes version and the writing is good enough, and emulator speedup during easy battles makes everything go much faster. Ps2 version looked too gross for me im afraid. Also idk if my laptop could emulate ps2. I love the graphics of the snes one. It looks like, idk, a 12 bit game. It rules.

I am disappointed by act 3. Everything proceeds in a tired way, without real direction, and story is almost non-existing. It’s like playing some uninspired DLC.

After having loved going through act 1 and 2, I am not even sure I have the will to finish it…

Has anyone felt in the same way?

Yes, I found act 3 frustrating from a plot perspective because while some of the scenarios were really good, others just seemed kind of careless or created a lot of weird inconsistencies. On the other hand, I like that the game is a lot more non-linear in act 3 and wish that some of the earlier parts of the game had that feeling of just traveling to different spots on your own to check for new developments.

But I kept going anyway for the sake of completion, and act 3 was where the ratio of my enjoyment of the plot to my enjoyment of combat and crafting and gear and stuff became almost completely reversed, basically, so I still had a good time.

I think maybe part of the problem is that the way it is set up it feels like it should be very significant plot-wise, but in reality it’s just a very thinly veiled excuse to let you fight some of the bosses over again in stronger forms. Earlier in the thread I referred to it as the ā€œthird half of the game,ā€ and I don’t know if I can explain it any better but I believe that it is true.
