honestly this is way, way better than dragon quest has been since IV and V, and I never finished either of those because I didn’t have access to an adequate localization when they were still technologically compelling and I was willing to put up with the random battles.
giving you a nice big party for a change goes such a long way! this rehabilitates a fair few jRPG tropes which I’d effectively never seen done in a way I gave a damn about before
its the first jrpg ive 100 percent competed and soon to be the first jrpg i 100 percent complete on hard, as soon as i get the switch version
