Since this is a series I’m interested in playing through chronologically, I still have 8 entries to go before this (mainline). Jeez!

it still gets me that all of the marketing for the west neglects to mention that horii and toriyama were involved in chrono trigger, seems like an open goal
like surely a chrono costume would have way more gamer types shrieking and posting ‘shut up and take my money’ gifs than the dq8 thing (which is exclusive to the west)

Tim convinced me too. I thought I was over JRPGs, and the only DQ games I’ve played are Dragon Warrior Monsters and Dragon Quest Builders… But that video made the game look incredible.
Last year I replayed all three Mother games and I enjoyed their battle system a lot more than I expected to. I feel like maybe I’m kind of in the mood for good old fashioned DQ combat.
The incredible length of the game gives me pause, but I suppose I can always quit when I get bored, like I did with Persona 4.

i am stupidly excited for this, 8 is my favorite DQ and this looks like more of that in the best way
i even started to replay 8 because i need to get my fix… gonna be spoiled by this nice orchestral soundtrack
That Tim review is very good and im with him on so much of what makes this series great. Especially like the point about treating each game like a multi-season anime. The length of this series works for me because of how episodic each game is, a couple hours per story chunk.

I’ve very excited about this video game; I played through Dragon Quest V last fall and this looks like it will be a very nice fall game too!
Yeah I’m seriously hype enough for this that I’m considering getting it, even though I have a couple longform games still in progress…

This account often cheers me the heaven up. Gotta be tons of DQ megafans to see but this is the only I’ve followed. Cozy stream of merch, events, and the occasional cute family shot.
Also yes I am prepping the 4th-9th to pack as much XI as possible in.
That there’s no option to disable the VA…ah well
