FPGA World Tour

There’s a new 20 dollar fpga console that does Super Nintendo. Already one friend was interested in this and maybe you are too.

It’s wild how Frankensteined together that thing looks though. Makes the Mister look neat and tidy. I guess they can’t get it to work with just USB controllers yet?

The retrotink 4k integration is neat for the 10 people who have a $1000 retro gaming setups

I foolishly brought my mister to America and back and it got damaged probably when a guy on my connecting flight slammed my backpack with their suitcase 4 times to shove it into the overhead bin.

Good thing is it basically works if I just plug the power supply directly into the de-10 nano. If I plug the power into the usb-c port it the light turns on but does not connect to the de-10. I thought maybe the usb bridge was broken and bought a replacement otg micro male to male cable which didn’t fix anything. So pretty much wrote off the IO board as broken and ordered another from theretrocastle. It being broken let me think how much I really really like the mister. What a great thing.

They just rewrote the Saturn RAM process so that works better and the N64 is basically perfect. I like it much more than retroarch or any emulators. The menu is so snappy. While it hurt to buy a replacement part it was an easy choice considering how it is my primary game device.

If I could trick my brain into parting with 90% of my physical sfc, saturn, megadrive, ps1 I’d be all the happier.

Anyways thread expect me back in 2 weeks screaming that I didn’t fix it.

What MISTer setup do you have and how much did it cost, Rudie? I’m always considering taking the jump but the price always spooks me, but your praise is pretty convincing.

Rudie has a flavor (not sure which variant) of what this store sells, which is an all-in-one setup. You can get a MiSTer built for less if you build it yourself, which isn’t super challenging

Whoa, these are so nice and priced better than the others I’ve seen! Is there no HDMI option though?

Like meauxdal said I got the Sega Saturn Output variant from theretrocastle. Specifically the one with blue metal case. You have a bit more options in the states. As a busy dad who stress bought one two years ago it came preconfigured (i think I have posts to the effect up thread).

Theretrocastle ones are just a bit different than the standard so if something uh breaks I have to order from them rather than anywhere else.

Hell yeah love to just casually put some more ps1 games on my microSD card and it tells me it got corrupted suddenly. Hurray.

SD Card: Replaced
SD Card Reader: Replaced
SD Card refilled but somehow a lot less full than before
New USB Bridge Attached
New IO Board Installed

Everything is back up and working but the new IO Board power button didn’t come with a plastic cap and does not fit my retrocastle case which is weird because this case is from retrocastle and I specifically told them this was a replacement board etc.

So now I have everything but a second De-10 Nano board sitting around this apartment now. Glad there is still one problem to solve, wouldn’t feel right that I got everything done with out a hitch.

For some reason update wasn’t grabbing the Mister Update so had to get that manually.

When I first installed everything I paniced when it didn’t turn on. I didn’t have the SD Card in there. Good job idiot me.

Hope retrocastle treats me right since I gave them a bunch of money!!

Only got to mess with the Amiga core for like 10 minutes today (it’s under MINIMIG for some reason) but this image on archive is as good as any commercial curation and it was very neat to just try some stuff.

N64 on De-10Nano development is ending. The explanation is behind a patreon, but it was a surprise to begin with. Guess Jet Force Gemini and Conker have issues still? I’m perfectly happy I got a single person’s incredible hardwork for free on a device that was already overflowing.

What the hell is going on with this Mister drama? The folks on the Mars team are taking their cores and going (to the 800 dollar product that may or may not come out but it can play Mortal Kombat 2)?

These nerds need PR teams.

All I know is that the Mister FPGA allows me to explore the world of Ys with Adol Christin at one moment and drive to Fort Lauderdale with the worst car controls imaginable in Hooters Road Trip the next…what more can ya want than that…
