i bought sweet potato pie and finally tried a piece. it’s very good – it’s like pumpkin pie but with a more subtle sweetness. also feels just a slight bit more like, custardy vs pumpkin pie. if i had to choose between two on a plate, the smell of pumpkin pie would probably be more enticing but i’d ultimately appreciate the sweet potato pie’s flavor more and be able to eat a larger piece.

i can’t stand the shelf stable tortillas you get at the grocery store – they’re too thick and they just taste bland in a way i find off-putting. i found these super thin flour tortillas that need to remain refrigerated, but they’re excellent for quesadillas and stuff that corn tortillas aren’t really suited for. when i worked near the border this guy would come by selling fresh corn tortillas and sometimes you’d get a thick as fuuuuck tortilla that felt so good to chew. corn tortillas rule.
anyway, if you cook two of these quickly (they don’t take as long to cook as pantry tortillas) and put them on top of each other they have like the perfect thickness with a real nice chew-feel. biting down into these raw feels so good.
i bought stuff to make chili, so i might try to make chili tomorrow.
No more bananas in the freezer.

i bought these a couple months ago, because of the incredible packaging, and finally ate them recently, they grew less convincing as the meal progressed but were not terrible
i finally found this channel that i used to see recommended videos for a bunch, it’s a cooking channel and the gimmick is the host has a very soothing voice and also puts a ridiculous number of eggs in practically everything she cooks. eggs can be added to anything
there are english subs on most if not all of the videos too
i love the english titles on all her vids, also all the sausages in everything
I made this sauce to go with my quick sprouts method (stovetop, cook on high covered for like 5 minutes then uncover and flip and cook another 1-2 minutes, essentially the 25 minute sprouts there), pretty great
My sprouts hack is to blanch them before roasting. It gives them a greener color and I swear reduces the bitterness.
