i’ve been spending way too much time at the golden saucer dipping my toes into triple triad, chocobo racing, and even a little vermillion. even trying to learn mahjong a little since the client they have ain’t half bad. killing time between Gates and trying to beat the Yojimbo one but i keep fucking up!
otherwise it’s just hitting the tomestone cap in a day or two and not wanting to to PF savage stuff (nor join a faceless guild) and grinding up fishing. i wish the patches were more often but who doesn’t, this was a good one.

i unlocked Gunbreaker last night! except i suck at it! lol
i failed the first GNB mission (escorting the pop star) like 4 times last night. the last time i touched a tank class was in 2015, so uhhh…trying to remember how everything works.
i think it’s really cool that these newer job classes start you at a higher level so you don’t have to grind, but it’s also sort of overwhelming because you suddenly have 30 new skills with very little explanation as to how they all interact with each other.
anyway, gonna chip away at learning it tonight and one day…i will be a good Gunbreaker.

yeah leveling mnk from 1 seemed pretty daunting but aside from the 30-50 grind it was actually nice to learn a class at a decent pace. i’m pretty ok at tanking but i also still suck at gnb because of all the buttons you get immediately

I’ve been doing some of the free trial - I am a duskwight in Gridania and my ambition is to become a broom-riding witch.
There was so much text every time I talked to someone that I just blast through all the dialogue now and run from marker to marker, killing everything in sight. I’m level 13 and hoping I can get on to the next area soon. Not going to subscribe until they do that big content cleanup patch of the first game, but, came controls well and seems pleasant enough, is probably fun with a group.

this is how @HOBO plays too! im always like ‘what are you doing in the game tiger’ and hes like 'SKIPPING CUTSCENES I HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON I THINK SOMEONE DIED" and then realizes too late that hes doing a sidequest line instead of the main quest anyway

i try to watch important cutscenes, but i definitely skim a lot of the in-between stuff. and sometimes i’ll just skip a cutscene if it feels clear that nothing of real import is going to happen.
never skip cutscenes with VO, though.

yeah if it has voiceacting i know i cant miss it. i definitely skipped NOTHING in shadowbringers and even started talking to npc without questmarkers above their heads cuz i needed more LORE

you can skip all dialogue and cutscenes in ARR honestly. the only one that truly matters is the final cutscene of the post-ARR content. and moenbryda but that’s just because i love her
