yeah, there’s a clear niche for Sagat in this game I think. he seems missed to me.
death to akuma tho

Tekken can keep Akuma. It’ll be like he’s on excursion…FOREVER
Honestly pretty interested in what gonna happen with Guile here. first time I want something to do w/ Guile since seeing him as a child on game magazines and going all look at the hair, holy shit
F.A.N.G. is kinda scratching that itch with his poison stuff. He’s not really a CONVENTIONAL zoner though, no. Saw a quote from a Capcom rep at an event recently who said Guile was going to be pretty close to his traditional style.
These servers are horribly inconsistent. The amount of times it’s failed to send match results for both wins and losses has to be close to twenty at this point. Even more strange, I beat a Mika player with a 7 win streak and got points for that, but I faced the same Mika player again one match later and they had a 8 win streak.
I suspect he can v trigger you but I don’t really know
Don’t know why (well I do, multimedia cross IP microsoft synergy and all) they are even bothering with this character if they aren’t bringing back Keith David.
Frank O’ Connor’s gone off and said they are doing the same thing as they did with Spartan-458 in Dead or Alive 4. So it’s a “Historical” Arbiter (Since it’s a Rank in the covenant and there’s been two Arbiter’s in the Halo games so far, never mind the EU).
Protecting “Halo lore”. Pffffffft. Thel 'Vadamee would have no problem fitting into a game where a cybernetic dinosaur that breathes fire fights a reanimated skeleton pirate.
Halo/Arbiter is a real boring choice but an obvious one. I’d prefer a cameo from a franchise I’m not already seeing everywhere, not to mention his design is honestly kind of boring. The colors are bland and nothing visually stands out.
Are people against the idea of a separate SF5 focused thread so we can organize CFN IDs and discussion?
I don’t see why not.
Well, they did show this last year.
I went ahead and made the SFV single game thread, if any fighting game deserves its own discussion that’s obviously the one.
Here’s where I will continue to talk about things like holy shit how many PS4 anime fighters can I handle in a ~3 month period. Just got Koihime Enbu (it’s very doujin anime fighter and not particularly GOOD, but fuuuuck M2 was involved so I caved), have barely touched Blade Arcus from Shining (which I really want to love) or Dengeki Bunko FC Ignition, and literally haven’t even popped Nitroplus Blasterzzzz into the system yet since picking it up in January.
Oh, and I’ve been strangely into Samurai Shodown III lately. I find it to be the worst of the Neo Geo SS games, but for some reason I’m just compelled to play it, and always have been since first getting the Saturn port back in… '96? Might have actually logged more lifetime hours in it than any other series entry. And I have access to the entire series in multiple formats (I own AES carts for all the Neo games, emulation, have the JP PS2 collection, etc.). But SS3 is the one I just keep returning to. I liked the strangeness of the slash/bust system and the look, even though the move lists are sparse, the AI is brutal (yeah I don’t get a ton of multiplayer action cause I’m the only person in 2016 playing SamSho3), the round timers are too damn fast (except when Haohmaru kills you in 3 hits)… SS4 is objectively better in every way, even if you’re looking for that style of game as opposed to the rather different SS1&2.
Anyone else have games like that, a series entry you KNOW isn’t actually that good and even agree that it’s worse than others in the same series, but you still just want to play it and not in an ironic “this game is bad” way?
COMPETITIVE AGGRESSORS OF DARK KOMBAT
The Astra Superstars spiritual sequel is coming to PS4. yay?
when’s IaMP
@firenze Koihime Enbu actually is really good, though. It’s a game based heavily around grounded footsies, with extremely punishing and easily-confirmed heavy counter hit combos. So, as you can imagine, its niche has kinda been crushed just now.
I want to like Urban Legend in Limbo for trying something different, but, well, it basically sucks. It sucks slightly less than the previous version, but, it still sucks.
Kenny Omega says he’s playing at CEO this year
BRUHHHH
I looooooooove Groove on Fight but Matrimelee has the most ridiculous/great OST. Also characters from that Double Dragon-ripoff fighter and the best final boss.
tl note: This song is about going to the arcade to play fighting games with your bros when you’re feeling down
