And it sports some EPIC rims… hubcaps.

Guess It’s time to check out this 10-square-kilometer desert map they just added!

The SP Rock Basher and the Autobello Autobuggy are both insanely fun to drive off road! The meta game of just trying to keep it under control over all the bumps at speed is awesome!

Also, look at this little thing!

on a sim-racing expo that recently took place some 200ish miles away, friend of mine had a go in one of these

lesser people/‘normal’ rigs (from his description, must have been the default ‘ten’ rig) and was blown away by the fidelity of steering and pedal-feel. Also praised the three-monitor-setup and whole experience, though the price tag … a bit to steep for him to plunge down the cash then and there :tarothink:

Car or dog carrier?

Having fun sticking offroad tires on every car in BeamNG and then driving them into the ground on the desert map.

Hyundai is absolutely killing it in the electric car styling department.

I’ve been a Japanese automotive diehard for 2 decades now but these Hyundai EVs absolutely have me thinking my next car will be Korean.

I owned an absolute piece of shit 97 Hyundai and even though I love their renders I find these things pretty boring whenever I see them in person

I still think I’ll replace my prius with an electric wrangler or something slightly more fun to justify the increased cost/weight, but not for like, another decade

tbf I’m hoping this Rav4 Hybrid lasts me until there is some major driver assist breakthrough, and at that point I’d guess there will be a Honda or Mazda EV worth a shit available in the USA.

In other news I saw ANOTHER right-hand steering wheel Japanese kei truck parked on the streets in Chicago. Is this a thing?

fwiw, note that Hyundai/Kia (same konglomerate really) poached two pretty High-Profile names in the Automotive industry from BMW/Audi (iirc Biermann - with that name, DEF german - from M Division to head the N sub-brand in Hyundai, that makes cars handle and target the Nürburgring :face_with_raised_eyebrow:, and Schreier (sp?) from Audi).

Also, they have a european design centre (similar to how Toyota has a SoCal center) that take care of some models/designing them to appeal to target audience, which is why the i30 could be labeled as Audi and would still pass the quick glance test.

afaik the cool Hyundais (Ioniq5,6,Staria) are designed by korean designers/studios :tarothink:

I think I mentioned they’re pretty ubiquitous here (or at least that’s what gearheads here tend to buy apart from motorbikes or sports cars) due to a weird combination of japanese imports often being cheaper than american + being right on the west coast. cool for chicago if they get them too!

(I am surprised that when I got a TETSUO vanity plate for my motorbike it was not already taken)
