- JDM Ford Taurus wagon
- Bubble boi FD RX7
- Offroad ND RF Miata (I love the side skirts converted to steps)
jdm Taurus … so, the Taurus wraps around to being cool again?.. do we have to call it a Torus then… ![]()
i need a $8000 immersive vr steering wheel setup with arctic thunder fans for this
diy wind simulation is within reach of the tinkerer and your local offerup will have logitechs and plywood ready for the taking
the dream of the 90s is alive in assetto, my friends
I love how it ends up evoking the NC around the wheel wells
this is a dope little interview. i wish i could have played TXR at an import car show
for those who haven’t joined yet,
Spa24h is live since 20 minutes already, they tricked me into believing it starts at 1700 CEST, but c’est la vie, 1645 it was. GT3 machinery exclusively, mixed lineups (and talented drivers) in the race, always fun to dop in and out of it every few hours.
Main draw this year would be Valentino Rossi starting in #46 Audi R8.
Last year had a brilliant finale, if you haven’t it seen yet, there you go:
So far, drivers are being unexpectedly sensible and keeping their cool, first 30 minutes almost completely green, Bentley in the litterbox aside.
someone took this driving controller and put it on a cartoon recreation of Suzuka Circuit and while I think the driving system was better tuned with the kei cars than the faux Silvias and Skylines, it’s cool to see people playing around with it
I also totally wiped out and the physics got confused
heck yeah. just finished watching WSeries and F1 Qualifying, so this will be fun to watch until uh….the GP tomorrow lol
late to respond to GT7 stuff - i think i posted before in Games You Played…, but i really like the game? tbf - i haven’t played a GT game since GT1, so i probably have no idea what i’m talking about. but i also have a feeling it might be one of those things where the experience just feels much smoother on a PS5. i think FH 5 is a better game for the pure joy of driving, but the actual control of the car feels better to me in GT7. this probably would be changed with a driving wheel.
SPEAKING OF - are there any good cross-platform wheels? and do i really need a base?
Playstation/Xbox? Without adapters? Fanatec, but, confusingly, only with…an Xbox-compatible wheel rim paired with a Playstation compatible motor-base. Everything current works on PC, essentially.
Like a wheel-stand/rig? Logitech/Thrustmaster-TMX/T150 table/desk is fine, beefier stuff gonna depend on sturdiness/ergonomics of your clamping solution.
yeah I have the slightly under $800 Fanatec CSR kit with the clutch pedal and I got it partly because it comes with a PS4 wheel (the base itself is generic, the wheels are not) that also works on PC, which are the only two platforms I needed. I think if I needed Xbox and/or PS5 it would be like $100 more each
I replaced the plastic belt sliders(?) in my wheel with 3-stacks of 3x9x4mm metal bearings, a few days ago. It is slightly smoother now. Did I lose one of the tiny metal circlips after it suddenly pinged away into the nether-realm as I was trying to force it back on? Sure. Yes.
yeah, should have specified - between PS5 and Series X, yes. i’ll look into these! the main thing i’m looking for in a wheel is feedback and resistance i.e. something that feels like actual driving.
i assume adapters would add input latency?
I…don’t know, tbh.
Fanatec is completely sold out for the foreseeable future I guess.
I’m not sure how much longer I can keep my G29 together. The paddles like to click themselves under heavy wheel use. Reverse is dead on the gated shifter. And I’m pretty certain the force feedback is on its way out unless I’m just having compatibility problems.
I need to start thinking about a new wheel. I’d order something from Fanatec if anything was in stock. Maybe I’ll look at the T300RS.
sounds like a job
for a tinkerer
Trust me, it’s been tinkered to death!
and here i thought FF13 x LV was the benchmark for ridiculous mashups ![]()
