i’m listening now, all of your points are solid, the one that i resonate most with is how the game really just dumps worthless cars on you — your rewards are stuff that could be great for the boring race you just did, but now they just collect dust in your discount jay leno warehouse i guess
the technology driving this thing is incredible. it is fun to drive cars, the weather conditions, but they completely failed to make a game around it. the only reason i’m still interested in playing it is, 1. sport got a lot of post release updates that corrected at least some of it’s biggest issues, i’m hoping we see a repeat performance here because i feel like the engineering deserves it. 2. like sakurina said, it’s gran turismo, and there’s no real replacement for it anywhere.

At the same time the pricing of cars is an important element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with the real world prices.

GTPlanet has some analysis on grinding efficiency throughout the series.
It’s weird to me to see GT5 listed as one of the grindier games because while I do remember spending quite a bit of time grinding in that game at the time (around launch), I don’t remember it feeling like a chore in that game, whereas it definitely does in something like GT3 or GT7.
