If I actually wanted a car, I would be down for this lifestyle. Would be real hard to decide who gets the spotlight though.
Is V-Rally 4 worth like two bucks and dealing with a bunch of games because they’re bundled with it?
I have not heard good things.
I love safari’d cars! That Volvo brick with the Martini livery and T E S L A badge is awesome! “Sponsored by Pittsburgh” You can buy Pittsburgh tools at Harbor Freight. They smell like plastic and lead, and probably won’t kill you. (I have a Pittsburgh floor jack)
Anyway, I’ll post some safari’d cars:
And an amazing Icelandic “glacier eater”:
What is older, Keanu Reaves of the G-Model 911t…
Might I interest y’all in Googling the 24 Hours of Lemons
My wife’s cousin has been part of a team that’s participated in that, I believe with a Subaru XT. He had a good story of the transmission basically falling out of the bottom of the car the day before the day of the race and the frantic expedition to various Pick Your Part lots that ensued.
Ive always wanted to do a lemons. their race wrapups on youtube are pretty fun.
i think the most important ingredient is having the right people with you to do this thing. After all, in the best… or worst… case you will be doing it 24 hours.
worthy rides i’d love to attempt the 24h with:
Ami 6
BX pre-facelift
and the Toyota iQ
…so this is how I realize my Gran Turismo 2 fantasies
the main rule is the car must be “worth $500” sans safety equipment also all the (non safety) rules are bullshit and can be bent with bribes of baked goods and good team theming.
I want to race a full sized van equipped with tiny wheels to lower its effective gear ratio (acceleration!) and the engine moved into the center section. So you just open the slider doors to get to it and the front end gets really light and darty. Maybe center the driving position. Then just chop off all the stuff we dont need, like everything between the rear axle and rear hatch.
hello motorsport and motocars and motorsport video games thread, i’ve been playing some DIRT RALLY 2 lately and I know some of yall are into that. the best part so far is smashin the shit out of the front of your car in hardcore damage mode and not having enough time to fix your engine cause there’s a night stage and so you gotta replace your headlights. this is me basically every event. one night stage I was winning but I binned it and bricked my headlights with about a fifth of the stage left and had to finish in the pitch dark using the occasional flashes of fan’s phone cameras to guide me and that was what I’d call pretty fuckin cool. I finished like 6th.
I think I need to turn the difficulty up from whatever I’ve got it on because I pretty much win any stage that I complete with an intact radiator, which seems against the spirit of things. then again I’m in some 60s car with 20 hp, so who knows
Surdrival Horror is an overlooked genre.
Try a Group B car when you have the funds for more of a challenge. RWD for hard mode and Midship engine for extreme mode.
Yeah, finishing a stage with no headlights is such a good feeling. I’ve STARTED 10km+ night stages with no headlights having smashed them in the previous stage.
Reminds me of some experiences I’ve had in Forza 6/7 at the LeMans track at night when I’ve selected a car that actually does not have headlights. OOPS
Grid Autosport won’t let me run a nighttime race if my car doesn’t have headlights. If a car’s in-game model only has textures representing headlights instead of fully modelled lights, the game won’t allow that car to run at night either
idk if that’s a good or bad thing, but if Hyundai doesn’t go into DPis or LMDh next, I am going to be angry… but not too angry, don’t want to piss off the new owners of the robot lord army…
yeah, that’s the goal. I want to simulate the terror of certain death
Forza straight up lets you run a headlightless car at night, and it’s as terrifying as it sounds. Especially once you pull away from the pack and drive in complete darkness.
