F██KIN’ VALENCE

nope! I got up to level 5 a couple nights ago and consequently couldn’t get above like 5k in points because I kept being overwhelmed

I think if you click New Game with the mouse, your level resets. But if you press anything else, you continue at the same level you were on previously.

Enter also does seem to be some kind of reset (which shows you that the background color is different every time).

I think I get the basic premise now, but I had a thought that I see the last several posts are echoing.

yeah mostly trivial if you just stay at lvl.1, just like if you get bored and mess up; might make more sense to play for highest lvl rather than points.

level carries between runs as we mentioned, so it is possible to just grind out higher levels as you play.

Hmm maybe highest score while playing at a particular level?

Even if we break the game and invalidate the score contest, it’s the journey that counts.

Here’s another one by the same developer, an unofficial third Joust game. It was made for a contest and it’s good, if you enjoy playing Joust.

I was bored and…

…tried to kill myself when I hit pi. Got pretty close all things considered!

It’s not a legit score IMO as if you only care about score it is a trivially easy game to break sadly. Staying on level one (which I did) was one thing, but ignoring me having to kill an enemy within the first 15 seconds I just stayed and rotated along the center orb keeping on the opposite side from the sole enemy while tapping the shield button to drain my energy every other second or so and it broke the enemy AI to the degree that it stayed so far away that its shots were fading out before they even reached near me. I think any of us here could score a million points with ease if we had enough free time and were resistant to boredom.

I say all that to suggest that we may have to toss all the scores and put forth either ground rules or an unofficial code of conduct.
