The only childhood high score of mine that I still have a record of is River Raid, and that was just because I asked my mother to take a photo of the screen so I could send it off for the free patch. (My score was not even that good.)

so i loaded this up and after figuring out the controller that worked right in retroarch for me (a ps classic usb controller), and looking up how the game works (if this disqualifies me, that is fine), I got this:

have any of you done the trick that makes you really long and done it at the top of the screen so you pull down a secret i think thats the only thing left
like you gotta make your head go off the screen its like youre pulling the prize from outside the confines of the game

You pull down either a star or a bird, depending on your speed (?). I got the star the other night.
Edit: Oh, that’s right. It’s a star the first time and then a bird every time after that. The former gives you a bonus and the latter penalizes you.
